STAR WARS: Adam Driver Reveals Why He Doesn't Want To Return To San Diego Comic-Con; "It Was Scary"

Adam Driver attended Comic-Con in 2015 to promote Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and in a new interview, the actor has revealed why he's in no rush to return to San Diego for the event. Check it out...

For the first time since 2019, Comic-Con is taking place in San Diego this weekend. While the event isn't quite on the same scale as it used to be, Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. are bringing some big upcoming movies to the show and we're expecting (well, hoping) it feels very much like the Comic-Cons of old.

The anticipation is that a lot of big stars will be part of proceedings in Hall H, but one actor who won't be there is Star Wars' Adam Driver. The Kylo Ren actor has only attended the event once (way back in 2015 for The Force Awakens), but it sounds like that was more than enough for him.

Asked by Graham Norton if he enjoyed going to Comic-Con, Driver bluntly responded, "No." He'd go on to add, "I didn’t know the rules of Comic-Con. I got in at the hotel at 2 in the morning and I’m like, 'Maybe tomorrow I’ll go get a coffee.' And they’re like, ‘Oh no, you can’t get a coffee.' I’m like, 'Well, maybe I’ll get a coffee in the hotel.' They’re like, 'No, you can’t get a coffee in the hotel.'"

"'If you want to go outside,' they’re like, 'Put a mask on so nobody knows who you are.'"

"I opened my window, because I’d been in the room for 24 hours before this thing we were supposed to do," Driver continued, "and then there was a band at the bottom of the building playing the Star Wars theme on repeat, because we [the cast] were all staying in the hotel. It was scary. I saw what it was. I mean, it’s nice. [But] I’m not anxious to go again."

That doesn't sound like an overly enjoyable experience for the actor, and we can't really blame him for wanting to give Comic-Con a miss after that. Ultimately, the sheer amount of secrecy surrounding the movies promoted at the event makes this sort of thing an inevitability, and there are lots of performers we know have donned a mask and had fun on the show floor.

Driver has mostly shifted his focus away from big budget blockbusters after starring in the Star Wars sequels, so don't bank on him joining Marvel Studios or Warner Bros. in Hall H this year!
