Tim Miller's TERMINATOR Reboot Casts Mackenzie Davis As The Face Of The Franchise

Deadpool director Tim Miller is spearheading development on a new Terminator film that was initially written by original Terminator director, James Cameron.

Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are confirmed to reprise their respective roles in the franchise with filming expected to start this Summer.

The film will pick-up directly after T2: Judgement Day and will hit North American theaters on July 26,
2019.

According to Variety, Halt and Catch Fire and Blade Runner 2049's Mackenzie Davis has joined the cast in a role that the site describes as "the face of the rebooted franchise." Is she playing a younger version of Hamilton's Sarah Connor? That's just speculation but given the time-traveling escapades of the franchise, it's certainly possible.

Are you excited to have Cameron return to the Terminator franchise or have the inferior installments following T2 completely caused you to lose all interest?

Maybe in this rebooted timeline we can eventually get a series of good films that take place after Judgement Day during the war.

@TheUnworthyThor -

Pretty much all I've wanted to see since I saw T2 all those years ago. One that looks like Camerons future war, all desperate and bleak and not like Mad Max in Salvation.

@TheUnworthyThor - These should focus on John Conner. Instead, he hasn't even been mentioned yet

Also on International Women's Day a shout out to Sarah Connor will always be one of the best Baddass Warriors on screen.

@HeavyMetal4Life

You're a massive Terminator fan, how do you feel about this one?
I was burned by T3 - Genisys but I'll always have hope.

@SimplyAz - so far so good, I'm liking what I'm seeing. Not really sure about this actress, I'm guessing she's playing Johns daughter or something like that, but I think this could be great film. Hope it focuses on the future war.

@HeavyMetal4Life -

The main reason I have more hope is that Cameron is more involved, also Tim Miller is Directing and the fact that Linda is back. Also Arnold was the only good thing in Genisys for me.

@SimplyAz - agree with most of that. I loved Arnold in Genisys. I mean, I love Arnold anyway so... 😎. But I actually really enjoyed Genisys. It's not great, but it felt like a true 3rd film. The T-3000 was pretty neat. Though I will gladly take a Cameron produced, Miller directed sequel anyday!!

This is going to be Terminator Next Generation and she's going to play John's daughter.

With this movie and Halloween randomly going back to points in time through out the franchise and deciding to start over you have to wonder how long it will be until we see a movie pick up right after the events of Aliens.

@NicolausCopernicus - Love that suit. Classic and contemporary. Nothing wrong with that.

@NicolausCopernicus - Zachary Levi must be thinking to himself

"...as soon as I am done with this, I need to fire my agent."

@NicolausCopernicus - Alright... the suit is growing on me. And god damn, Zachary Levi looking Henry Cavill jacked right there, although I imagine that's mainly padding.
