Adrien Brody To Join Predators Cast; Topher Grace "In Negotiations"

Adrien Brody To Join Predators Cast; Topher Grace "In Negotiations"

Well, this is a surprise. Looks like Antal and Rodriguez are going for acting chops over muscle for their leading man. We could also see everyone's favorite part of Spider-Man 3 join the hunt!

According to First Showing, Oscar winner Adrian Brody will join the cast of Predators as well as Alice Braga (I Am Legend), Mahershalalhashbaz Ali ("The 4400"), Walton Goggins ("The Shield"), UFC fighter Oleg Taktarov, and Danny Trejo (confirming the rumors).

Apparently Brody ends up inheriting "the mantle of leader," while Braga will play the tough female killer. Ali plays a "man not afraid to die." Goggins is the loose canon of the group. And Taktarov is a former Russian special ops agent. Trejo will play Cuchillo, a hardened warrior with twin uzis strapped to his back.

In an update, they also report that Topher Grace is "in negotiations" to join the cast as an accountant type whose unassuming facade masks a dangerous serial killer.

This is some cast these guys have assembled. I have to say, I thought the multi-national mercenary plot sounded a bit obvious, but with solid actors on board it's looking a lot better to me.

We have heard the rumor of Predator Dogs being involved..well, here's a pic of what Alice Braga's tough girl character may look like in a fight to the death with the vicious beasts!

WTF! Would you rather some muscle bound [frick] tard that can't even say his lines to nab the role just because he has big biceps?? They have the UFC fighter to fill that role. I'm glad they went with a quality actor in the lead.

hmm Brody could be interesting, sort of like a homicide detective type. I can dig it.

has nothing to do w/ that. I just never liked adrian brody and he's got as much chance killing a predator as Danny Glover did (17 yrs later and I still ask, WTF!!) Topher let me down w/ Spidey 3 :( Mainly that stunk from story but I thought he could have filled Edie's shoes better than he did, I expect more from him. Redemption here?? Maybe

I actually like danny glover in pred 2, I liked the detective angle or the story it was a nice change from the creature feature that was the first movie. I'm not ragging on the first one I just enjoyed the slight genre change.

@ boss

they would have to be able to control the xenomorphs, which they clearly cannot.

also, it makes sense for them to have dog like creatures. there has to be other types of animals on their homeworld. and after all, WE use dogs to hunt...

@ ror

i agree. this movie sounds tight. i hope they have a good reason for having all these badasses with different nationalities. it would make sense if the preds were picking up hardcore badasses of different races from our planet. kind of like so they can test the human race after the schwartz killed one of their own.

Im loving the cast...some dumb mucels, some thin good actors...

Just like steve buchimi in con air, the small serial killers are some of the best characters in movies.
I like the approach....something different Rod is a smart producer/director and I trust what he might have up his sleaves....

let the shit play out b4 dogging it.

i liked the 2nd one too. it wasn't just the same story over again. new locale, new time period, different type of hero. i thought it was as good as the first, even though we're in the minority, lol

I hate Topher Grace. HATE him, UNLESS he is playing Eric Forman. But I do love the choices of everyone else who has been cast so far.

good article. I love Adrien Brody. I dont like Topher Grace. He is one dimensional. He will never break the mold of being Eric Foreman, the dumbass! haha...

CorndogBurglar that's my point exactly! it was new and different, by far one of the best sequels ever. I think I might even put it at the top of the list purely because it breaks the mold of doing the same thing as the first but bigger. I'm not knocking great sequels like empire strikes back or The Dark Knight and Spiderman 2, but they all did the same thing they just went bigger. Predator 2 tried to tell a different kind of story and that's a really cool idea to just totally be like the first one was great now we're going to push it aside and were going to be doing it totally different.
And from what we've seen so far this next installment looks to be in that vain, it seems like a whole different thing. And unlike the AVP movies it's got me excited.
Well I was excited for the first AVP but it was disappointing character wise so I never even saw the second one.

Yays, we gonna see more shooty fighty, not more retard [frick]ing Alien Vs Predator crap. I tell ya man, those movies disappointed me, even though the first one was merely passable. Worthy of a single clap.

I hope this turns out to be another classic, especially with my favorite {almost}Venom.

Bring Eddie Brock back to life ;)

Good news to me. Brody is a fine actor and while he lacks certain badass factor he is quite lithe and athletic, and also seems to have an air of intelligence about him that could easily manifest to a sharp cunning for a story like this. And say what you want about Topher Grace, but That 70's Show is awesome, I have all 8 season's on DVD and when I read this articles title and recalled the prvious article listing the casting types, I knew this had to be the role he was in consideration for, and I think he can swing it. I can't wait for this flic.

BossWalsh, I can't wait to see the females onscreen! They are the social leaders in the Yautja hierarchy and are as deadly as the males,

KiR, I to worry he may not break from Eric Foreman, but I liked him in that show and I want to give him a chance because of it. He did great opposite Dennis Quaid in 'In Good Company'

Oleg was in Bad Boys II. His role was pretty short, but he was pretty good in it.

I'm glad Brody is going to be in this. I can't wait to see him take on an "action hero"/tough guy role. In King Kong he was more of a "knight in shining armor" type.

As far as Grace goes...I just hope he pans out well for this movie. I'm just not buying that he can hold a role in this movie, but who knows?

...anyway, it's looking good on paper.

I remember first seeing Brody in the movie Bullet with Mickey Rourke. He played his younger brother, and I knew two things he was very talented, and he was going to be big as an actor. This guy will lend credibility to any movie he acts in, class act all the way.

This movie is so contrived it makes my head hurt! A bunch of convenient stereotypes takin' on a whole planet of enormous, fast, super-hunters on THEIR homeworld!

Are they kidding me? Brody can't even save this stupid premise for me! The only good thing about it is seeing more of the Predator's home-planet!

I liked Adrien Brody in The Thin Red Line and King Kong so he should be good in this

But I really would like to see Topher Grace in this movie as it means we get to see him ripped apart for [frick]ing up Venom in Spidey 3 and for just being overly annoying in general

Well, I like Topher in Traffic.... I think that was the first movie he did outside of his 70's show. He played a rich kid who would go to the hoods to score drugs, not an award winning performance, but it showed a serious side of him.

i still trust Rod... for him to cast Topher he must have seen something in one of his past performances 70's show, spiderman 3, traffic that makes him think he is the guy for the serial killer role.

like stated, the nerdy person who is hiding the fact that he is a serial killer.

i wouldnt be surprised if he turns out to be one of the best characters in the movie....

but im sure he will be the first on killed, lol..

vonstallin-His performance in Traffic was awesome.

theMyth-I too love That 70's Show and think Topher was hilarious as Eric Foreman. I think it's about time we got to see him in something else that'll stretch his acting chops and wash the bitter taste of Venom from our collective taste buds.

personally I liked the faculty as well, and as for the plot being contrived...we only have a bare bones frame work and nothing more. When you simplify the plot of any story it sounds contrived watch: Watchmen is all about how these two sort of washed up super heroes who team up to solve the mystery behind the death of one of their former comrades. They keep thinking it could be some past evil, but in the end they find that mastermind of the whole conspiracy was someone they both trusted the most.
That sounds like a really flat story to me, however we all know that the watchmen is one of the deepest and most emotional stories around. You can't judge this early in the game, they haven't even started filming.

Mickey Rourke, Sam Worthington, Michael Fassbender, Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Tadanobu Asano, Kevin Durand and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger.
