In a recent interview with Collider, Janty Yates, the costume designer for The Martian, revealed that Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant will take place "10 years in the future beyond Prometheus." What does that mean for Noomi Rapace’s Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, who was last seen with Michael Fassbender’s character David? We’re not sure yet, but we do know that with the time jump, there’s only 18 more years until the events of the first Alien film.

Also, with Katherine Waterston set to star in the film as a main character, what exactly will take place in the film that'll lead to another human being showing up? I’m sure we’ll find out the answers to these questions soon enough! What do you think about this news? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Alien Covenant is set to be released in theaters on Oct. 6, 2017.
