BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: BLOOD & CHROME Will Not Make it to SYFY

SYFY has decided to pass on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: BLOOD & CHROME. This is probably the worst news that any fan can hear after seeing the trailer from WONDER CON.

Those of you die hard true believers who still believe that another network will pick it up, don't hold your breath, SYFY President of original programming, Mark Stern, had this to say about the series:

“Though the vision for “Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome” has evolved over the course of the past year, our enthusiasm for this ambitious project has not waned. We are actively pursuing it as was originally intended: a groundbreaking digital series that will launch to audiences beyond the scope of a television screen. The 90-minute pilot movie will air on SYFY in its entirety at a future date.”

And a web series it will most likely become. A web series is better than nothing...true...but those of you who care should mourn in sack cloth and ashes for what could have been.

How the hell can a network not want to pick this up?.

Its not like the cerebral 'Caprica' that disappointed those expecting a BSG-prequel with as much action, THIS is the prequel that should of been and the action in the trailer speaks for itself.

Are the networks braindead or something?

BSG wasn't all that, IMO. It lasted 5 seasons? Stargate Atlantis was soooo great and could've been the Star Trek:DS9 of the franchise, but "SYFY" has moved into a more corporate stance on programming. Which obviously has resulted in the never ending list of below B rated movies they produce. I still think that there's soooo many shows "SYFY" could pick up outa the cancelled zone and make money off of...like Terra Nova, Life On Mars, No Ordinary Family, The Cape, Knight Rider....just to name a few I liked. They're just afraid and I understand.

And before anyone says those choices are bad....just an IDEA.

This is the worst news since the cancellation of Cop Rock.

Seriously though...it's SyFy, not ScyFy. They're friggin' idiots. This show would have made bank.

So we can get Megashark vs. Giant Octopus but an actual decent show with what appeared to be some amazing stuff is a no go??

Dude, if it wasn't for Face-off I would have no reason to watch Syfy. This network has become a joke.

I am waiting for the first high quality high budget science fiction television series on HBO.

I liked Battlestar Galactica, it is probably the best "space" sci-fi series out there. Better than Firefly, all the Star Trek series, Falling Skies, Stargate series, Babylon 5.

It has a dark, real feeling to it that gives it an edge.

But if there would be one channel that could do something great, it would be HBO. Game of Thrones, Rome.. - In Space. :)

FRAKK. SyFy officially sucks this was the best show they have had in the last ten years. Sorry not a SG fan. BSG was awesome and it took a weak story from the seventies and made it awesome. I love the original but the new one was way better.

I haven't watched this channel (whatever the Hell they're calling themselves now) regularly since Farscape went off the air.

big fan of this BSG and would like to see more.

HOWEVER, if anyone on here saw Stargate; SGU, it was a far superior sci fi show.

Well, the pilot must've been ambitious - there was alot in the trailer. Too expensive for SYFY?

Pilot + webseries is better than 0.
