'Caine' Takes Aim In New JUPITER ASCENDING Pic

Entertainment Weekly have released a new still from the Wachowskis’ follow-up to Cloud Atlas, giving us another look at Channing Tatum as a slightly ridiculous looking cross between a WWE wrestler and Mr. Tumnus. Check it out after the jump.

Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning toilets and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along – her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

Jupiter Ascending hits theaters July 25th, 2014.

Wow, this page is destined for Channing Hatem comments. Sounds like the plot of MIB II kinda, but, I love scifi so if the trailer looks good, I'm in.

I'll wait until it's out on DVD if Mila Kunis disrobes at any point in the film.

Otherwise, no.

People are dissing this yet creaming in their pants to see a Raccoon with guns and a treeman in space just because its a Marvel comic movie? Logic vs biased fanboy attachment right there!

@thewonderer: Nope-- I liked Cloud Atlas, too! I'm still kinda mystified at the negative backlash the movie got from critics; I think the extreme make-up was just too much of a leap for some people (turning an Asian woman into a redheaded Irish girl was one of the most jarring visuals I've seen in a film, but it didn't take me out of it).

But Jupiter Ascending looks like it's going to have a hard time overcoming its slightly goofy sci-fi flavor to become any sort of a hit-- visually, it seems more in line with Speed Racer than, say, The Matrix. I still think it might be a decent film, but I'm dubious as to whether it's going to catch on with audiences and restore the Wachowski name... which is what I was really hoping this film would do.

And yes, those things are still not Channing Tatum with pointy ears and guyliner.

Cloud Atlas was not bad but I don't think I could sit through it again. This sequel could be interesting.
