CATCHING FIRE: Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch & Garrett Hedlund Up For "Finnick" Role?

According to UK E! Online's sources, the top three names being thrown around Hollywood for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire are Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch and Garrett Hedlund. Although they also say that the studio might be looking at an unknown too.

A few days ago we reported on the rumor that Twilight's Robert Pattinson might be up for the part, but that was debunked by the actor himself yesterday. Kitsch of course last appeared in John Carter, Hedlund played the lead in Tron Legacy, and Hammer will be seen next alongside Johnny Depp in The Lone Ranger. If the role of Finnick was to come down top those three, who do you guys think would best suit the character?

Filming is scheduled to begin in the fall with Francis Lawrence taking over the directing reigns from Gary Ross.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be released on Nov. 22, 2013.

I can see Armie, kinda.
Taylor has the correct look, but I don't think he could pull off the attitude.

I have known about Armie and Garrett being up for the role.
Not very new news, haha!

Plus, Armie is the perfect age.
Finnick is supposed to be in the age range from 21-24...Armie is 25.

I imagined James Franco more, but if I would have to pick one, it would be the unknown, make or break them, the others have already proved what they're capable of, plus **SPOILER** hes only in it for the one, so they wouldn't have to commit.

Garrett Hedlund..... without a doubt will take this role. Hammer is already a start, Kitsch has too many negatives, and Hedlund is looking for that one role to extend his popularity. Perfect fit for him, though I haven't even seen The Hunger Games

How in the hell does Taylor Kistch get offered roles? His agent must be able to suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.

It's cool how movies that are adapted from books always say "From the New York Times Best-Seller" when some people never even heard of it and it some how becomes big box office success.

If Daniel Craig was twenty years younger...then ladies and gents you'd have your Finnick Odair! But he's not, so I suppose Hedlund would be the better of the three. What about Zac Efron, though?

Give it to Hedlund!!!!! He's your man. He's ready for a more complex character, and he would be the greatest Finnick of the 3. Finnick is arguably the most interesting character in the books. You can pull it off though, Garrett...just channel your inner manslut and ur in Finnickland lol

Definitely Hedlund!!! I feel like the other just would not be able to pull it off, and Hedlund is already known to geeks everywhere from Tron Legacy.

They are all younger than I pictured Finnick in the book.
When i read it, I thought he was in his 40's. A more 'mature' guy.
He wouldn't do it, but a Jon Hamm type.

Taylor Clitshit has to be the worst actor of his generation!

That being said.... I bet DC/Warner's casts him in their next attempt at an epic (Man of Steel not included. it looks B.A.)

Between these 3, I pick Tron guy.

Haven't read the books, but Hedlund deserves more roles.

@dwolf, I pictured him in his mid to late 20's. They go on and on and on and on about his good looks and perfect physique. Hard to find in a 40 year old...

HOLY CRAP! Garret Hedlund is actually MY CHOICE for Finnick. If he gets this parts, I'm gonna cry sweet tears of joy.

I have nothing against Kitsch but physically he's all wrong. Hammer's too buff and clean-cut. Hedlund is by far the best choice. I actually would've been ok with Twilight guy since he's crazy and has the right build. @superman7 Huh, Justin Hartley could work. I'm most curious about who they get for Johanna.

They should pick the one who will best be able to die a quick and insignificant death after being a main character for a book and a half.
