Joker is a Slovenian monthly magazine that began as a computer gaming magazine and then expanded into reviews of books and movies. The magazine has seen Prometheus and will have a full review in the future, but til then they have decided to tease their faithful readers with a quick summary.

UPDATE: Fox say they have not screened the movie for anyone, and are still working on the final cut. They believe the review to be a fake.

The Hollywood Reporter Magazine has a story about director Ridley Scott. As part of the piece they have included concept art and behind-the-scenes images not yet seen before. The article itself reveals that budget for Prometheus is in the range of $120 million to $130 million covering 1,300 CGI shots. Also the creature in the film will take on four different forms.

It seems like when someone does an early review like this, there are always 2 responses.
1) "It was amazing!" People doubt the reviewer as a fanboy and speculate they entered the theater with rose colored glasses.
2) "Meh" Jaded critic who "didn't know what to expect" lol

I can't put stock into either, just watch it and judge for yourself.

It seems people just like to complain and nag and nitpick like a lil beeyotch about every element in a movie nowadays.

I assume the review was translated to English? Anyway, not really a negative write up..they just seemed a tad disappointed.

I do believe they were referring to LV 426. How can you give a review, and not even know what the heck you're talking about?

Considerig ridley was always a little unsure about returning to sci fi or alien films, it seems strange that he would make a film that their describing as a set up for a sequel when he on many occasions talked about it like a one off quasi prequel to the alien franchise, gotta wonder if they just had no idea what was going on in the film or they just wernt paying much attention. Also strange that theirs been no talk of a prometheus screening yet.

Yeah whatever!

2001: A Space Odyssey got, and still gets, BAD reviews and it IS one of the, if not THE very, best science fiction films of all times!

Still this review could be spot on. I WILL SEE!!

not interested in seeing this...4 different forms like original aliens. they should have just done Mountains of Madness if they wanted to do a horror movie about this. and had del Toro do it like he wanted. f' h'wood

HanBurgundy
HanBurgundy - 5/16/2012, 6:35 PM
This article was absolute bullshit from the start. First off, the sheer number of gramatical errors brought suspicion.

Then there is the bit about him getting the planet name wrong....Its actually LV-223. If you look at the tv spot that shows the hologram of the planet, there is a marking beneath the moon and it clearly reads LV-223. LV-426 is the other moon that the original Alien and Aliens films took place on.

What it comes down to is this: It would make sense for the studio to ask for this to be taken down, even if it is a fake, mainly because of the fact that its a fake reviewer who doesn't talk highly of the film. They dont bash it....but they dont praise it either....so why would they want that on the internet before any official reviews? A lot of people might ask "why care about a fake review". Well, it makes sense when you think that people might actually take this guy at his word and decide not to see the film. That could potentially hurt sales all because some asshole on the internet wanted to get a little attention.

...and just for the record, why the hell would this guy, who nobody has ever heard of, have the opportunity to see the film already when so many other established reviewers could have seen it instead....people who actually have a following.

The films finale will have the last crew member of a crashed Prometheus send out a warning beacon that repeats at short intervals to be picked up years later by a towing vehicle the NOSTROMO believing it to be S.O.S the crew sets out on a rescue mission unknown to them the Weyland Yutani company knows it's a warning and has embedded an android amidst the crew to carry out orders of retrieval of the now evolved Alien?

Just watched Alien.

It's pretty cool all the subtle tie ins that are like the Space Jockey and the crashed horseshoe ship.

The only thing is the general public may not see the correlation between the original Alien film and this one.

I wonder if they're gonna have the actual Aliens in this.

Enterlion
Enterlion - 5/16/2012, 9:03 PM
I'd love to see even a glimmer of the original aliens. Just to tie it all together and blow the minds of people who may not have known it is an Alien tie-in.

bagadoosh: The Space Jockey in Alien was a fossil.. Doesnt that mean it has been there for thousands of years? Or even more.. And it was about 15 feet tall.
gaikinger
gaikinger - 5/17/2012, 12:49 AM
My only question is the timeline...the Space Jockey is fossilized so will they gloss over that or will it be explained?
Hardshaw
Hardshaw - 5/17/2012, 1:03 AM
@dioysios I hope that's how it pans out? If you've read or seen any making of Alien material you'll know that Geiger intended to have a dome like temple within it the alien eggs where kept, there seems to be something similar in the trailer, now does the Derelict rest atop this buried structure or emerge from beneath it? I'm too curious I guess and that's the nature of being spoiled by having too much info about any film today unlike the thrill of a chest burster scene waay back in the 70's!! Looking forward to this I just hope Ridley Scott has not done a 360 and used 'elements' of the Alien universe to create something different.
Hardshaw
Hardshaw - 5/17/2012, 9:45 AM
@bagadoosh see this is what I mean about Ridley Scott just using elements of the Alien universe a clear sign that it's NOT a prequel or connected to Alien???
Hardshaw
Hardshaw - 5/17/2012, 3:12 PM
@bagadoosh maybe he brings the story up to the 'Egg stage' but that's as far he will go if it's connected no guys in rubber suits with cocoa bean heads scurrying around air ducts..if only.
