Variety/Showblitz is reporting that Warner Bros. is looking into a brand new Twilight Zone film, reviving a franchise of TV shows and films which began in 1959. WB is reportedly looking at several big name directors to helm the film, among them Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight), Michael Bay (Transformers) and Rupert Wyatt (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes). Harry Potter director David Yates is also reportedly being considered as well.

Mutual interest is brewing between WB and at least three individuals: Christopher Nolan, Michael Bay and Alfonso Cuaron, Variety's Justin Kroll exclusively reports. There’s also a dark horse in the mix: Rupert Wyatt, whose RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES drew rave reviews and more than $400 million worldwide.

Variety goes on to say that Nolan has emerged as the front-runner, but there's a possibility that he won't take it due to the similarities of The Twilight Zone to his last film, Inception.

Who do you want to revive the Twilight Zone franchise? Be sure to sound off your thoughts below in the usual place.

[frick] Michael Bay. He's good with action but his stories suck.
Never heard of the third guy.
Nolan is pretty good with mind[frick] movies and cerebral plots. I'm sure he'd do a great job.

I don't think he would accept it. I read somewhere that he was thinking of doing a Howard Hughes biopic. Not sure.

-____- nothing could top the original, if they do make a film they should just make it an anthology film like the previous film

@Superman17 Yeah, that's the project he wanted to do after TDKR. Not sure if he can do that before/after a Twilight Zone film however.

i try not to pigeonhole directors but i feel that bay can only do movies with explosions - i have no idea why he's being considered for this

Nolan above Bay. Bay shouldn't even be in the equation. TZ isn't the type of the movie for Bay.

That list is like the old Sesame Street game where they show 4 picture on the screen and ask, "Which one of these doesn't belong?"

Any idea which one of those directors doesn't belong?... Okay, it's not exactly a tough game now, is it?

I'm a huge Twilight Zone fan, they'd both screw it up! Screw Michael Bay, his movie suck. Don't hire Nolan either. I wish Rod Serling was still alive, The Twilight Zone is nothing without him.

Okey now im lost are they looking only one director to helm this movie or many directors?

I mean the original had guys like John Landis, Joe Dante, George Miller & Steven Spielberg.
So i think it would be cool if they would get different directors to helm this new movie.
My vote goes to Alfonso Cuaron, Peter Jackson, Christopher Nolan, Danny Boyle, Gore Verbinski, Rupert Wyatt and David Fincher

So we can have a more "realistic' Twilight Zone where nothing supernatural happens or one where there are explosions every five minutes lol.
