Warner Bros. isn't performing too bad this summer, despite the lack of a tentpole superhero film to anchor their line-up. Godzilla currently has the 5th highest worldwide gross, with $477.3M USD off of an estimated $160M USD production budget. The film is currently in its 7th week of release but still has a looming July 25th release date in Japan that figures to provide a sizable late boost. Tom Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow, directed by Doug Liman, currently sits at $292.8M USD, globally. The film has an estimated production budget of $178M USD but currently looks positioned to finish with a favorable box office haul, thanks to strong word of mouth. The film is entering its third week of release. WB currently has 4 of the top 10 films, in terms of worldiwde box office gross - Edge of Tomorrow, Godzilla, The Lego Movie and 300: Rise of an Empire.

This Summer is really good so far for me, I been picking the right movies (other the one I will not name). I hope Edge can pick up some more cash, deserves it.

Edge was a refreshing Cruise outing which was enjoyable, especially the first half, however during the final act it did kinda go a bit Cruise control on it and he starting looking like he does in every other movie which just pulled it short of being great. If the snappy tone from the first half had continued would have been great. Can't believe I haven't seen GDZ yet, I'm looking for a theatre that still has it.

Godzilla was cool..it built up the suspense before revealing the big guy. Great monster fight but needed more,my guess is the sequel will jump right into massive battles. Give us more fights!

Edge is a good film with a cool premise. Actually last years Cruise's sci-fi film Oblivion was a better movie.
It was more original,had better twist & overall it's a more satisfying movie.
Edge is more action film & Oblivion is more cerebral. Cruise makes good movies.

Not seen EDGE but GODZILLA was pretty cool, just wish a certain person didn't get killed off near enough straight away.

There wasn't anything cerebral about Oblivion. It was big budget re-hash of Moon but they just added aliens and more action.
Edge is definitely more cerebral than Oblivion because it takes a lot of effort to show the same battle and events over and over again and make it entertaining.

Edge is a better movie. Oblivion was shot more beautifully and had a better score. Overall Edge is better Cruise film in last few years behind M:I-4.

I'd bet that Godzilla does poorly in Japan. They sneer at our attempts to replicate their pop culture. They've been making fun of the new Godzilla's weight problem since he was first revealed.

Godzilla has it's moments. Very good but not great. Tom is still the man when the material is good. Edge is a great and the cast with one my favorites Bill Paxton makes this a movie to enjoy!

I loved the new Godzilla, no real complaints other than the lack of Ifukube music. I guess bitches love to bitch though....

Such a remarkable achievement from Godzilla in which my opinion is one of the best films of 2014. I'm glad i saw Godzilla in IMAX because i got value for my money.

Still have not seen Edge of Tomorrow but i'll get around to it soon when i'm not busy.

The fact that Edwards is doing a Star Wars film in between Godzilla tells me it'll be 4-5 years before we see the next one. Kind of sucks, but I have a feeling that's because of the lawsuit going down. Or it could be because they want to let the DC franchise start growing. Or both.

Gamera: Guardian of the Universe and Gamera 2: Advent of Legion are probably 2 of the best kaiju movies ever made.

Gamera 3: Reveng of Iris, however, was dissapointing.
