Tom Cruise and the rest of the crew from Doug Liman's All You Need Is Kill invaded London's Trafalgar Square. A tourist hotspot that features some of the country's most iconic landmarks, like Nelson's Column. Photographers were able to nab images of Tom in military dress, sporting Top Gun-like aviator-style sunglasses. He was joined on set by a large group of extras dressed in military battle gear, that was covered at times with ponchos.

The scenes that were filmed involved a chopper hovering over Trafalgar Square with Tom inside and then touching down. Tom Cruise's character then proceeds to disembark the chopper, greeting a contingent of military official. That's about it, nothing too exciting. No aliens (shrugs).

Wardrobe to the rescue: An assistant seemed to be giving the actor's military uniform a last-minute tweak as he prepared to shoot new scenes for the movie

Action hero: The 50-year-old actor seemed to be accustomed to his role as a crime-fighting action hero

Ready, set, go! The Hollywood star seemed as though he was about to sprint off into the distance as he disembarked the helicopter

In charge: Tom seemed to be in command as he walked around the set chatting to a co-star

Daring: Tom looked as though he was preparing to jump out of the helicopter as it hovered above central London

Dapper dude: Tom Cruise looked every inch the cool customer as he shot scenes for his new movie, All You Need Is Kill, in London on Sunday morning

The story unfolds in a near future in which a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake. No army in the world can match the speed, brutality or seeming prescience of the weaponized Mimic fighters or their telepathic commanders. But now the world’s armies have joined forces for a last stand offensive against the alien horde, with no second chances.

Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an Alpha down with him. But, impossibly, he awakens back at the beginning of the same hellish day, and is forced to fight and die again…and again. Direct physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop—dooming him to live out the same brutal combat over and over.

But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth. As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.

ALL YOU NEED IS KILL is being directed by Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”) from a screenplay written by Dante Harper, Christopher McQuarrie and Joby Harold, based on the acclaimed novel "All You Need Is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The film stars: Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Jonas Armstrong (BBC TV’s “Robin Hood”), Tony Way, Kick Gurry, Franz Drameh, and Charlotte Riley. The film will hit theaters March 7th, 2014

Reading that description I think this movie could actually be really awesome. I'll give it a shot, Tom Cruise usually doesn't disappoint on the big screen (for me at least)

I'd really like to psyched for this movie, but I'd prefer a different lead actor. Same with 'Jack Reacher'...

Who gives a shit about Cruise's personal life..as long as the movie has a cool story & great action I wanna see it.

Cruise usually makes good action movies & is believable in his roles.
Make fun of him all ya want but hes very fit & looks better than most men half his age.

He's better than Jerk Gyllenhaal.

As a Former Marine I have an issue with the uniform. Although I know it can't be accurate but come on Marines wear Ribbons and Shooting Badges on that uniform and no name plate.

I am a former JROTC Cadet and i can tell you that his oak leaves look like gold which indicates he's a Major rather than silver (Lt. Colonel)
