A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is being directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In), from a screenplay written by Mark Bomback, Scott Z. Burns, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The cast includes: Andy Serkis (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Public Enemies, The Great Gatsby), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises, The Harry Potter film series), Keri Russell (The Americans, Mission Impossible III), Toby Kebbell (The Prince of Persia, Wrath of the Titans, Rock N Rolla), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In, ParaNorman), Enrique Murciano (Traffic, Black Hawk Down), Kirk Acevedo (The Thin Red Line) and Judy Greer (The Descendants, Three Kings, 13 Going on 30). The film climbs into theaters July 11, 2014

I saw it once and i don't have a desire to see it ever again, not because it's bad, it's just that kind of a movie.

Such a good film, modern classic. The art makes me want to re-watch it.

I'm genuinely shocked that this headline hasn't already been taken. It's been MONTHS since Dawn came out, we've seen TONS of concept art, and it's taken this long to trot out the "bananas" pun headline?? For shame!

When does this come out on Blu ray/DVD btw? Loved this film.

@dethpillow No worries, I never mind to give my thoughts on a film haha =P

For the most part, I loved the film. I definitely agree that this was an amazing follow-up to "Rise", but some parts of it really stuck out to me. Like the first film, everything to do with the apes was incredible. The CGI, the acting, the entire storyline of Caesar leading the group and Koba rising up to oppose him, leading to the battle with the humans (which is probably the first time in a while where I DIDN'T want the two opposing forces to fight)...all of that was simply incredible stuff!

But everything about the human side of the story was just so...lacking, you know? Compared to the insane quality of the ape side of things, it was just a bit jarring for the main human characters to get the shaft so badly. They've proven that they can write ape characters amazingly well, so why couldn't they do the same for the humans?

But I can easily look past that flaw because everything else was so great! Either way, I'm planning on giving it a re-watch, just to make sure I'm not missing out on anything. If I had to put a number on it, I'd say it's a 7.5 out of 10 I guess?

@CookieKid247 ".. with Automatic Rifles"
Almost everything looks exactly the way that it appears in the film. Really looking forward to seeing how they develop ape society
