ReelZChannel is reporting that there is a secret url hidden in the newly released trailer for J.J Abrams upcoming monster movie 'Super 8'

I watched the trailer a couple more times but haven't been able to see it for myself, however the link the provided is valid and it takes you to a website showing footage of what looks like some kind of experiment in the 60's.

You can check out the site HERE

"Set in 1979 Ohio, the film will follow a group of six young children as they use a Super 8 camera to make their own home movie. One night while filming near a remote stretch of railroad track, the children witness a truck collide with an oncoming train leading to a catastrophic derailment. Amidst the fire and destruction, something emerges from within the wreckage, something inhuman."

This reminds me of E.T. I hope it's not that sentimental crap. I want to see people get ripped in half or heads getting knocked off or something. WHO'S IN AGREEMENT!

oh, and i don't get where all the ET comparisons are coming from. The trailer of the monster smashing its way out of the train car doesn't exactly remind me of ET...AT ALL.

This is supposed to be an alien monster movie, so really, where are the ET comparisons coming from? lol

Judging by the bits of film you can catch on the site, it seems like tests on an alien craft and the aliens (I hope). I'm a sucker for alien/alien invasion movies. I just hope this doesn't turn into another E.T. Give me Starship Troopers!

Somehow it's pretty sad to see that movies like ET (Close Encounter with the 3rd kind, Goonies, you name it), which were absolutely fabulous at that time, wouldn't get people out of their seats anymore. The only thing people seem to want is some overloaded CGI stuff with explosions and corpses. No wonder why so many people are so numb...

Not that I don't like such movies, but not every movie I like watch has to have at least one corpse and blood 'n gore in it...

My guess is that more "films" will be discovered and added to the site as the movie draws closer. Missing clips in films? How very "LOST" of you Mr. Abrams.

@ Corndog: Have you seen the newest expanded trailer? The one that hit a week or so ago?

The E.T. comparisons are (I think) referring to a certain tone. Like the protagonists are little kids, and they are dealing with something bizarre and amazing.

I liken it to Stand By Me meets E.T. meets Cloverfield.

Thank god it's not "Blair Witch Style" lol

Okay, so if you go to look at the trailer..and at the end (about 2:04 min. in..where all the images are flashing through the camera) you can pause the trailer and there is the website sideways in the camera. It's s8editingroom.com
