In the following video interview with Digital Spy, the actor who starred in comic book adaptation The Losers last year and will play Heimdall in Thor next month, confirmed that he'll be in Prometheus and also discussed working with Ridley Scott and the movies relationship with the Alien franchise.

"I really can't say too much about Prometheus, but yes, I am in it. I literally am in preparation for it now as we speak. I'm a huge Ridley Scott fan, this is my second time working with him. He's a majestic filmaker. He's like royalty. He attracts the best people to work with him. Actors as well as film crews. It's a joy to work with him. I'll be there all summer working on Prometheus out at Pinewood."

"I mean, you know, if you've read any interviews with what Ridley says, he says you can't ignore the fact he made a mastermind in 1976. A mastermind. Prometheus is in some ways connected to that, yes of course. Is it in storyline? I'm not at liberty to say. I will tell you that if you can imagine a young Ridley Scott making a film like Alien in 1975, released in 1978, and just imagine what he can do now."

Prometheus is set to be released on June 8th, 2012!

Really? He made a "mastermind?"

In 1975?

Elba, once again, proves Twain's old adage: "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." :-P

when he says mastermind he means masterpiece, I'm betting the words are interchangeable in some dialects. Or maybe this is just a quirky idiolect. He got the date off...so what? Same difference.

there must be some misquotes. He probably meant "masterpiece".... and he's right. Alien was filmed in 1978 but released in 1979. Ridley is old but damn he's still one of my top 5 directors... Hitchcock, Orson Welles, John Huston, Akira Kurosawa round out my top 5.

To clear up any confusion

mastermind:-

verb
to plan and direct a project of complex undertaking.

OR

noun
a person of great intelligence or executive talent, esp one who directs an undertaking.

Even so! I'm pretty sure he's using it incorrectly. lmao
