James Cameron on Avatar 2 and Avatar 3:
I’m working on Avatar 2 and Avatar 3… I’m deep into it and I’m living in Pandora right now. There is that start up torque where you feel it’s coming to you. Then you build up momentum. That’s when it gets fun. The characters talk and it’s writing itself. I’m almost there right now. It’s building fast.

James also had more to say about Avatar 2:
It’s a little daunting because sequels are always tricky. You have to be surprising and stay ahead of audience anticipation. At the same time, you have to massage their feet with things that they know and love about the first film. I’ve walked that line in the past, so I’m not too worried about it. At the same time, I definitely have to deliver the goods…As for a release date that will be determined by when I get the script out. No pressure!

There is no current release date for Avatar 2 and 3, but keep checking CBM for future updates on Avatar. Do you think Cameron will be able to create a sequel that can match the box office success of the first?

Well he did pretty damn good with Aliens and T2 so I hope he can do good with Avatar 2...I just hope it isn't as boring in parts like the first one.

@MercSoul : and Superman is just the story of Moses. It's completely irrelevant that it chooses to re-interpret a timeless tale.

The thing is, Avatar was awesome because of the experience. If you watched it at home on your laptop, then you're at fault for missing out an an incredible movie going experience. Also, it had the "First time Charm", that the sequel's obviously not going to have, so it'll be tricky to execute. I hope Jimmy has some great ideas!

I really the first Avatar movie. I know it was cliched in parts and as people say a Pocahontas rip-off, but it was a very enjoyable movie, and I was lucky to watch it in IMAX 3D... It was MINDBLOWING!
