JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION - First Footage Takes Us Back To A Time When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth

Fans have been anxiously anticipating a teaser trailer for the latest installment in Universal's block-busting dino franchise, Jurassic World: Dominion, and we recently learned that the first footage will be attached to IMAX screenings of Fast and Furious 9, which is set to hit theaters on June 25.

While it'll probably be a while before that entire extended look will be released online (if it is at all), we do have a brief sneak peek of some footage thanks to the official Jurassic World Twitter account. It's not much, but it does provide a teasing glimpse of a prologue that's expected to take us back to a time when dinosaurs ruled the Earth.

Descriptions of the full preview found their way online last week, and following our little trip back to the Cretaceous period, we will get to see a T-Rex wreaking havoc in a drive-in movie carpark.

Jurassic World: Dominion will feature JP originals Sam Neill (Dr. Alan Grant), Laura Dern (Dr. Ellie Sattler) and Jeff Goldblum (Dr. Ian Malcolm). We're still not sure what kind of role they'll play in this film, but they are expected to make more than just brief cameo appearances after Goldblum's two minutes of screen-time in Fallen Kingdom came in for a lot of backlash.

Dominion will also see the return of the previous movies' stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, along with Jake Johnson (Lowery Cruthers), Omar Sy (Barry Sembane), Justice Smith (Franklin Webb), Daniella Pineda (Zia Rodriguez), Isabella Sermon (Maisie Lockwood), and BD Wong (Dr. Henry Wu).

Franchise newcomers include Mamoudou Athie (Sorry for Your Loss), DeWanda Wise (She's Gotta Have It), Dichen Lachman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Scott Haze (Venom). Jurassic World: Dominion will open in theaters on June 10, 2022.

This looks pretty solid!

I would watch a full on movie taking place in the Jurassic period.

@Cbmfilmjunkie - That would be...weird. It would just be random dinosaurs and animals roaming around.

@CorndogBurglar -

Don’t act like you wouldn’t sit and watch a NatGeo or TLC documentary on Dinosaurs.

@SatsuiNoJXA - Oh I would! And actually, I'm sure I have. But those usually have some kind of narrator. When I think of a movie about dinosaurs in the Jurassic period I'm picturing no voice overs or anything.

Plot twist, this movie features no humans and is just about dinosaurs.

Glad they're exploring the past with this one. The series has been stale for awhile now.

If this movie ends with dinosaurs dominating the earth again, I will be happy.

@Repian - The last one kind of hinted at that at the end. But there's no way they go full on domination. The world's milatries would tear up some dinosaurs really easily.

That looks like a Gigantosaurus so the rumors might be true

@ALF9001 - although i do believe that the feathers are very disputed nowadays so... Back to square one?

@ALF9001 - Yeah right now its believed only infact Rexes had them, but shed them once they grew to adulthood, but lets be fair without seeing one Rex alive, anything could be possible

Please be more like the first JP and Lost World rather than the last 3 (Even though JP3 was better than both new ones imo).

Despite the glaring inaccuracies this prologue is gulity I'm still looking forward to this because I enjoyed all the Jurassic films but my favorites are the first two.

Here's hoping it's a better dinosaur movie than either JW or... whatever the last one was called. The last one is legit the worst movie I've seen in a theater, and I was there opening night for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

@PapaSpank54 - I am sorry but FK is a Citizen Kane compared to the piece of turd that is Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

I honestly really enjoy FK. It has its weak spots, but FOR ME, it also has some of the best moments in the franchise.

@kylo0607 - I’m with you I don’t really get people who act like Fallen Kingdom is unwatchable or something it’s kinda dumb in spots but by in large I find it really enjoyable.

@kylo0607 - same. The shift in setting had me kinda bugged initially, but in the end it did work out for me
