Warner Bros. hosted a 6-hour panel during tonight's CCXP Worlds online event, but fans were left very disappointed by the lack of new content. Aside from a new 60-second spot for Wonder Woman 1984, the only noteworthy tease for the studio's 2021 slate came in the form of about 3 seconds of footage from Adam Wingard's highly-anticipated monster mash, Godzilla vs. Kong.
The short clip gives us a first glimpse of the giant ape unleashing a battle roar as the current King of the Monsters surges through the ocean to meet his challenge.
Starring Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Shun Oguri, Jessica Henwick and Brian Tyree Henry, Godzilla Vs. Kong pits the two famous monsters against each other in an epic battle. Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok) and Max Borenstein (The Terror) wrote the screenplay.
"In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever."
Godzilla vs. Kong is set for release in theatres and on HBO Max next May.
