@Kevwebsz - King Kong's just too big in the new one. I really don't see the point of the movie when Peter Jackson's did such a splendid job, other than different time period.

Did someone say Monster Mash?

Not that the film looks bad, I just find Kong's size too absurdly exaggerated. In Peter Jackson's I could totally believe the sizes of the creatures. In 2014's Godzilla, Godzilla was a sea creature by nature it seemed, so his enormity wasn't such an issue...if that makes any sense at all, but the Mutos were just explained and depicted so believably that their size didn't matter.
The trend of 'make everything bigger to be better' doesn't sway me much, but still, I'll check this out, perhaps.

I tried watching Petey Jackson Kong about a month ago. Hoo boy. Once the skull island stuff, actually the V. Rex fight is over, all the air just flies out of the movie. Effects hold up for sure. I much prefer the approach being made here though. The design looks like something that could exist in nature but more... Mythic than just a giant silverback.
