Tom Cruise stars in Oblivion, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete. Living and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the rest of the cast includes Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Melissa Leo, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Zoë Bell. Oblivion is set to hit theatres on April 12, 2013.

It sounds cool and all, but the only soundtrack I'm interested in hearing this year is Hans Zimmer's MOS track. I wonder if they'll spotlight it in the next trailer?

Sure, the director made Tron: Legacy, but with this amazing soundtrack and a script my Michael Arndt, writer of Star Wars Episode VII, you can't go wrong. I thought of utilizing m83 for my sci-fi movie before hearing about them working on Oblivion, so it's not surprising. Their songs have always evoked thoughts of utopian apocalypse.

I'll give Kosinki props for getting awesome people well to make awesome soundtracks in his movies. Daft punk and Olivia Wilde were the best things about Tron Legacy.

big fan of M83, this is a great opportunity for him creatively and commercially.

I'm really hoping the reviews are good for this movie, because I'd love for it to be GREAT...previews aren't getting me out of my seat yet (can't trust marketing though)

Sunshine is one of the most under rated sci-flicks ever. Proves Danny Boyles versatility as a director ([frick] YOU!Boyle how could you refuse to do a bond movie)
