The previously released Japanese trailer for Max Steel introduced us to the main characters, but this longer U.S. version gives us a much better idea of what to expect when the movie hits theaters on October 21. There's also the added bonus of being able to understand what's being said this time - though, to be honest, some of the dialogue on display may make you wish you didn't.

The story revolves around 16-year-old (yes, obvioulsy 22-year-old actor Ben Winchell is playing a teenager) Max McGrath and his alien pal Steel, who combine their powers to become the "turbo-charged superhero Max Steel."

Check out the new trailer below and let us know what you think.

Based on a toy and animated series, the film chronicles the adventures of 16-year old Max McGrath (Winchell) and alien companion Steel, who must harness and combine their tremendous new powers to evolve into the turbo-charged superhero Max Steel. As these two unlikely friends struggle to accept their oddly connected fates, they begin to uncover unimaginable secrets, working together to find the truth, and fighting the mysterious forces threatening their world.

Directed by Stewart Hendler (Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn) and written by Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World), Max Steel also stars Josh Brener, Ana Villafane, Andy Garcia, Maria Bello and Mike Doyle.

Delayed release, end of October release date, late marketing, lackluster production values, a property that lost steam a few years ago, this is a flop waiting to happen.

Man what is Andy Garcia doing in this?
Maybe he gambled on it as being the next YA hit.

Look at that awesome beard, cannot wait until my facial hair goes white/grey as it would contrast with my darker hair colour.
