Mad Max Blu-ray Giveaway!

The “take no prisoners” cop MAD MAX rides onto Blu-ray for the first time October 5 as MGM Home Entertainment releases the post-apocalyptic action classic, and CBM is offering two copies to fans who want to go Mad with Max!

Starring Mel Gibson (Braveheart, Lethal Weapon) and directed by George Miller (Happy Feet, Babe: Pig in the City), MAD MAX was hailed by the New York Times as one of the “Best 1000 Movies Ever.”

Now viewers can experience the thrilling dystopian action film with an all-new Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack. Special features include filmmaker commentary and the documentary “Mad Max: The Film Phenomenon,” featuring interviews with the original crew and film experts. The new release also features the very popular original Australian audio track in addition to the American dubbed track.

Considered one of the best films of 1979, MAD MAX garnered three Australian Film Institute (AFI) Awards for editing, sound and musical score. The film was also nominated by the AFI for Best Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Hugh Keays-Byrne).

In the ravaged near future, a savage motorcycle gang rules the road. Terrorizing innocent civilians while tearing up the streets, the ruthless gang laughs in the face of a police force hell-bent on stopping them. But they underestimate one officer: Max Rockatansky (Gibson). And when the bikers brutalize Max's best friend and family, they send him into a mad frenzy that leaves him seeking revenge, which is the only thing left in the world for Max to live for.

To win one of the two copies available, just let us know what you think about the Mad Max character or the film series in general. The editors will pick two winners from the responses. Winners will be announced on Wednesday October 6th.

I saw this when I was a wee little kid. But even then after watching his family get run over I was like ohh he better get some. And he did. People Died, I giggled. Best of the movies. Great that it didn't have boomerang retard.

For me., “Mad Max” was the first “classic” movie that I really dug. I remember seeing it for the first time in middle school and loving the blinding speed shots and the and the way George Miller could show rage and fear just by using and close face shot. The was a action movie that was so hard core, it was like nothing that I had seen in terms of action movies in the 90’s. After seeing Max, I had to see “The Road Warrior” and “Thunderdome” . This was my gateway to movies like “Bullit” and “Clockwork Orange”.

I love the mad max serious, a lot of people always say mad max 2(original name before America changed it) was the best but i think the first was the best. The Road warrior was great but the third was kind of a let down. I can't wait for the forth one if they ever get to it because I want to see Mel Gibson return but if he doesn't return I hope they Don't do it.

Mad Max was the beginning of an incredible journey. The Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome took us out further into the world and wasteland. I love Mad Max in particular because it shows the beginning of the character's quest and what started hium down his path. I think Mel Gibson made the character but I am looking forward to Fury Road with or without Mel Gibson.

Well Tab, I'm sure she is no angel either and probably is a gold digger. But be that as it may there is no excuse for punching a woman in the face..when she is holding a baby! And that's even disregarding his vile racist comments. He's just a nasty piece of work.

The Lord Humongous demands a copy of Mad Max!

Seeing this movie is what made me want to don a metal hockey mask and speedo together. Without this movie there would be NO smegma crazies and NO gayboy berserkers.

If this movie didn't exist than there would be no Ayatollah of Rock N' Rolla. And what kind of world would that be? Not a world that I want to be a part that's for sure.

So leave one of your copies of Mad Max with me and just walk away.

I need a reminder of why Mad Max is even more wicked than Christianity. These movies will definitely help. Besides, Mad Max lives in a post-apocalyptic world with no Jews just like in Mel's dreams.

Mad Max is one of the best post apocalypse movie franchises. A man who lost his wife and kid, roaming the earth for the rest of his days with that burden and then having to fight his way out of scenarios when he just wants to live in solitude is great. Mel Gibson was at his best in these movies because he was portraying a character that wasn't too far off from how he really is in real life.

Mad Max vs. Master Blaster, that is memorable cinema.
