"Everybody’s asking this, it’s cool! You know, it takes time. I don’t want them to rush it. I mean the reason that Pixar movies are so amazing is because they spend years throwing it out the window, re-jigging it, coming up with an idea, breaking it down, starting again, you know.

So to make it correctly, I think it’s actually very encouraging. Because a lot of the times they’re like ‘we made some money let’s jump on the back of this. We wanna make more money again as soon as possible.’ [But] it’s nice to actually have a little bit of time to develop it."


So, the X-Men: Days of Future Past star seems keen to return for the sequel, as did Noomi Rapace earlier this year. Some moviegoers didn't exactly love the first instalment of the Alien prequel franchise, so the fact that they are now taking their time with the follow-up to Prometheus (which grossed over $400 million at the box office) should come as welcome news!

Prometheus totally sucked anyway, I can't say as bad embarrassing as AVP but on a similar level of disappointment. Never understood the great reviews for it. To sum up Prometheus, bunch of characters and so called "scientific explorers" acting like silly amateurs go into an alien temple and mess around with everything cause yeah that is totally a great idea right!? On top of that to make matters worse the trailers spoiled nearly every single huge moment in the film and directly showing THE END of the movie in every single one making it a huge predictable boring fest.

I don't see how else they are going to take Prometheus from here, better off to just reboot the franchise again.

I liked Prometheus and I'm excited to see the sequel, glad to see everybody is seemingly on board for another.

The movie was stupid beyond belief.

But because of my love of aliens and monsters I'd still see the second one like a sucker out of pure curiosity.

I'm a big fan of Ridley Scott, with Alien and Blade Runner being what I consider some of the best sci-fi movies ever made.

Prometheus however was visually stunning, the film on the other hand a complete mess!

Prometheus is simply a math problem not everyone will be able to solve.

If you have the directors cut which included deleted scenes you would become fond of exactly what direction it was and still is going in.

You can't be a typical movie watcher when viewing the film and that's where I think so many people went wrong. They expected "one" movie to answer EVERYTHING. You have to keep in your mind that there is much more to the existence of these species and that is why I truly have faith in 2 more sequels. Think outside of the box the movie held you in and see where it has potential to go...

I loved Prometheus. It was just lets fight the aliens movie. It was smart(which we haven't seen in a science fiction movie in awhile except maybe District 9), well written, well directed. I think some people were expecting big battle scenes with explosions.

Go back and read some of the best and classic Science Fiction and will have almost no of that.

LOL @ anyone thinking this franchise will offer any profound answers to the major existential questions confronting our species. After five thousand years of profound religious and philosophical thought by the greatest minds we still haven't come close to understanding our original place within the larger universe. But don't worry, we'll get a meaningful and insightful answer from a two hour science fiction movie produced by a hack movie writer.

Lol...no Ramon, we'll get it from the History Channel, because they talk about real things like Ancient Aliens and Pawn Stars...

Don't be so pretentious dude.

Movies are there for entertainment. If the movie makes me wonder and opens up my geek, then so be it...say something nice or GTFO

The "problem" with Prometheus is that they dumbed down the story and removed as many references to Jesus as they could.

So sick of the naysayers of this incredible film. Go ahead and think you're so smart and we're so stupid for liking Prometheus if that really makes you feel better about yourself.
I really took a lot away from this movie, and it really challenged my thinking in many ways. Was shocked at how much I liked it, went in expecting to be disappointed. Came out with much food for thought about pretty much everything. Just glad some understood and appreciated it for what it was and not what it was never meant to be. Personally I don't need a sequel, I'm afraid it wouldn't be as good...or afraid they'll change what I've already made up in my mind, lol.

My gripe with Prometheus was how dumb these scientists really were. I thought Darwinism talked about species evolving, and not devolving.

Here's the theory you nerds probably already heard it by now:

If you noticed in the movie they arrived during Christmas time, and the outbreak that killed the Engineers occurred 2,000 years earlier...

The Engineers sent Jesus to teach humanity how to treat each other right with tolerance and what not - unfortunately the humans reacted by killing Jesus.

The Engineers got pissed and figured there was no hope for us and decided to wipe us out....

Then the outbreak happened.

The studio execs got all puckered up because of the potential of offending Christians, as well as an aversion of producing anything remotely related to Christ (unless it's to mock his followers while depicting them as crazed lunatics who think the earth is 4,000 years old) so they diced the shit out of the story, and now we're left with many questions that were posed but answers that were no longer available.

If you said "anti-scientist," I would agree, because the movie seems to imply that scientists are all freaking morons. I'm just curious what you though was so "anti-science"
