Michael Giacchino Hired To Score The Wachowskis' JUPITER ASCENDING

Star Trek Into Darkness composer Michael Giacchino is set to reunite with writing/directing duo Andy and Lana Wachowski on their upcoming sci-fi film Jupiter Ascending, which begins production this spring.

According to Film Music Reporter, fan favorite composer Michael Giacchino has signed on to score Andy and Lana Wachowski's upcoming sci-fi film Jupiter Ascending, which is currently in pre-production and expected to be released sometime in 2014. Filming will begin this spring. Giacchino, who is currently working on J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness (out May 17th), previously worked with the Wachowskis on Speed Racer. The writing/directing duo's next film "is set in a time where humans are at the bottom of the evolutionary ladder and are watched by higher forms of life and follows a woman who has been targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe." Jupiter Ascending stars Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Sean Bean and Tuppence Middleton. Warner Bros. and New Village Roadshow Pictures are producing the film.

Always good news when Mr. Giacchino is scoring a movie.

Hope The Wachowskis move into "Justice League" after this project. I'm not even kidding, either them or Snyder are the only ones that could save that project.
