The Hunger Games is just two weeks away from release, and based on trending figures is expected to open bigger than Twilight. The author of the incredibly popular novels, Suzanne Collins, has seen the movie and was very impressed. Will it deliver on its potential? Watch this new 45 second clip and see what you think..

“In a not-too-distant future, the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.”

The Hunger Games is directed by Gary Ross and along with Lawrence and Kravitz stars Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Isabelle Fuhrman, Willow Shields, Amandla Stenberg, and Wes Bentley. It will be with us March 23rd.

That was horrid. Kravitz has the worst delivery- Lawrence was decent, but forgot to include the emotion... this film still looks like a train wreck.

The book was beyond awful. It had no character development whatsoever. On top of that, they didn't even have any personality. The premiss was a rip-off if Battle Royal (which would have been great to see it remade in film) and the story didn't back it up well at all! I facepalmed myself when *spoiler* all the dead contestants were turned into monsters *end spoiler*. The author really jumped the shark there.

You people are as high as a kite. Kravitz actually embodies to look, the presence, the feel of the character as it was written in the first book. Also, Kravitz doesn't have a tremendous amount of acting credit. His first gig was as a nurse in Precious.

This movie looks lame. John Carter looks way better.
