In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

Ender's Game stars Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Sir Ben Kingsley, Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis and Abigail Breslin, and will open in theaters November 1st.

Thought the article said "Featuring Harrison Ford as a Butterfly."

@LinkavitchChumofsky Could they not do Ender's Game and just do Artemis Fowl instead?

It so pleased me that my resident Archlight had the decency not to play the trailer for this film before my viewing of Star Trek.

High class movie theater right there.

Heard a disturbing report today that the tornado in OK city followed less than 24 hrs after a gay pride parade, and that similarly, hurricane Isaac hit New Orleans in the middle of their parade. Report came from Pastor Mike Hoggard's radio hour.

Has anyone else heard if this is true? I'm going to research this to verify it and check other events. If so, the implications are serious, as scripture condemns not only the practitioner but also those who applaud and approve rebellion against God. America is next in line after Israel - God disciplines his own first, then moves on to the neighbor's kids.

May Christ forgive us our fist in the face of God, and forbear just a little longer until those who hear his voice REPENT!

I'm 100% certain the good pastor was getting a header from his prostitute girlfriend while simultaneously signing papers to divorce his ailing wife when he gave the report, too.

@SotNatt

Wrong guy, you are talking about Ted Haggard.

@monkeyballs

I may be an idiot, but I urge you to look into this. I don't agree with Orson Scott Card's Mormon theology, as it is saturated with Freemasonry and a blend of other pagan systems thrown in for good measure, but I respect his courage to lay everything on the line to uphold God's word on the subject of homosexuality.

And don't bother arguing against the existence of God, I have had a very specific supernatural experience that has ended that debate for me forever. I'm glad to share that with you anytime, but my point here is that OSC correctly represents Gods' view on the subject as stated in the Bible, both before and after the arrival of Messiah.

I have a gay nephew, and I love him dearly. I'd take a bullet for him, but he knows I will never sanction his lifestyle or gay marriage. It is not a civil rights issue on par with skin color - it is an affront to both God and nature, and even Darwin would have to raise an eyebrow to the idea that the highest pinnacle of human evolution is an unnatural act that can never propagate the species (can't pass along DNA to offspring when it's swimming around the GI tract).

Gay culture, literature, books, art, movies, radio, lifestyle, conversation... everything, is about sexual gratification. Period. And, of course, rebellion.

And yet, Jesus paid for their rebellion, and mine, and so I will never raise a hand in violence towards them. Jesus said to love our enemies and do good to them, but not to participate in or applaud their acts of rebellion against God.

Maybe I'm still an idiot, but I urge you to reconsider... we don't have much time left.
