New Trailer for Battle: Los Angeles

New Trailer for Battle: Los Angeles

Sony Pictures has released a dramatic new trailer for its upcoming alien invasion movie, Battle: Los Angeles!

Written by Christopher Bertolini (The General's Daughter) and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (The Killing Room), Battle: Los Angeles is inspired by the 1942 "attack" on Los Angeles that has become known as "The Battle of Los Angeles," an incident which involved the U.S. military strafing the skies over L.A. with anti-aircraft fire for more than an hour without ever hitting any targets. At the time, the U.S. military thought we were being invaded by the Japanese. Today, the incident has been ruled a "false alarm" triggered by "war nerves," but many believe that the military was shooting at a UFO or multiple UFOs (and a photo that ran in the L.A. Times appears to show spotlights focusing on a flying saucer).

Battle: Los Angeles stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena, Bridget Moynahan, Lucas Till, and singer-turned-actor Ne-Yo.

Battle: Los Angeles opens March 11

I am really anxious for this Movie. And you toss some of this into the second half of a 3 hour Avengers movie and you will have an Epic Alien vs. Superheroes film

Nice find, Brent! I'm really digging the concept for this movie. It looks like a less cheesy version of Independence Day. I can't wait to see this flick.

I've been getting more and more excited about this with each new trailer. I'm hoping it will wipe away the stain that is Independence Day forever!

@TheMessenger: That would be brilliant! All of this, plus The Avengers joining the fray?!? Titanic!

@Matches: Thanks, bro!

Judging by the previews it looks like we are going to get our ass kicked.
Then again the title states "Battle" Los Angeles. Which means that therte could be sequels leading up to a final war. Yeah the last movie can be called "Final War Earth."
Am I over thinking this????

@squibb Nah. You speak the truth. Judging from just the trailer, I would definitely want sequels if they do things right.

So sick of these end-of-the-world-by-way-of-alien-invasion movies. Something like District 9 was interesting, but Independence Day, Skyline and now Battle: Los Angeles, it's getting old.

What was wrong with ID4?! Best alien invasion movie for it's time! This movie is just another addition to other great alien invasion movies made.

SO many people on CBM here are movie experts, yeah right :P.

Still no new footage. I liked what I saw at Comic-Con (and I love Aaron Eckhart), but as each day goes by, the less enthralled I am by this movie.

Now I'll just probably wait until it's at Blockbuster.

because we all know it's age appropriate to go ape shit over movies about dudes in tights and capes but not alien invasion movies. are you kidding me?

This was pitched as Black Hawk Down against the backdrop of an alien invasion.

Empire reckoned it to be pretty tight and zoomed in on just one units story in a much bigger conflict, I'm looking forward to it.

all of those movies take place in a fantasy world where money can make you a superhero, or a freak accident can give you powers. i love comic books but it seems foolish to bash one genre when the other is equally watchable.

ID4=we win
WOTW=we win
Skyline= they win

there's no telling how this one is gonna go down exactly, it's better to just have an open mind about it. like with the new x-men, people are so sure this movie will fail hard that they have nothing better to do than bash the movie months and months before it's release, and even after that i'm sure they wont relent. me, i just watch movies because i like watching movies.

ID4 was good in that it showed multiple perspectives of what was going on. in comparison, WOTW's was mostly cruise and kid stuck in a basement with a psycho..lol

@theguywhomayknow and @magic8

Nobody is forcing you to go see them so whats the problem. I'm pretty sure people are saying the same thing about comic book movies. Have you two heard of variety, if you don't like alien invasion films they are other genres of movies out as well lol

Don't hate on Independence Day, that movie is one of the best alien invasion movies ever!

I am looking forward to Battle LA.
