THE PREDATOR Moves To September While ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL Heads To December For A Face Off With AQUAMAN
20th Century Fox has slightly shifted the release dates for two of its major upcoming releases: Shane Black's The Predator and Robert Rodriguez's Alita: Battle Angel. Come check it out!
20th Century Fox announced today that they've pushed back the release dates for Shane Black's The Predator and Robert Rodriguez's Alita: Battle Angel.
The Predator reboot/sequel, which was originally slated for release on August 3rd, will now open on September 14th. The film successfully moves away from Mission: Impossible - Fallout's second weekend, but will now face some heavy competition from Albert Hughes' Alpha, the Mandy Moore horror/thriller The Darkest Minds, and Stephen Merchant's wrestling comedy Fighting with My Family, which stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as himself.
Alita: Battle Angel, which stars Rose Salazar in the lead role, is the more surprising move of the two as it gets pushed back five months from July to the jam-packed December 21st date, where it will now face off with James Wan's Aquaman, Travis Knight's Bumblebee, the Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly comedy Holmes and Watson, and Shah Rukh Khan's highly-anticipated Zero.
Additionally, Fox has dated Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express sequel, Death on the Nile, for November 8, 2019, which is essentially the same release window as its predecessor. They've also reserved the March 5, 2021 date for Blue Sky's upcoming animated feature Foster.
The Predator is an upcoming 2018 science fiction film that will be directed by Shane Black. It will be a sequel to the 1987 film Predator.
