To mark the imminent release of Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One adaptation, Empire Magazine is paying homage to the legendary filmmaker with the Spielberg Takeover Issue, which is set to hit shelves this Thursday.

The mag has debuted five different versions of the newsstand cover, four of which spotlight one of the director's most iconic and enduring films.

You can probably guess what most of them will be, but check 'em out below along with the Ready Player One cover and let us know which movie you think stands out as Spielberg's best.

Jaws

The movie that defined the summer blockbuster all the way back in 1975, and made an entire generation of film-goers terrified of going for a little dip in the ocean; Jaws remains one of the most nail-bitingly tense thrillers of all time.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark

Raiders of the Lost Ark introduced the world to one of cinema's most iconic heroes in Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones, and easily ranks as the best of the series in most fans' eyes.

E.T.

The classic tale of a lonely boy and a homesick alien, E.T. retains the power to make grown men blub like babies.

Saving Private Ryan

For many, Saving Private Ryan still ranks as the best war movie of all time, and the opening Omaha Beach landing scene remains one of the most brutally realistic battle sequences ever committed to film.

Ready Player One

Many fans of the source material were a little underwhelmed by the first teaser for Ready Player One, but the most recent trailer seems to have gone down a lot better. Do you think this is destined to rank among Spielberg's best?

That “The Shark” didn’t make the Villains all time list is a travesty and a outrage!

It sucks that this is the closest I'll get to seeing Tye in an actual visor for a while.

That Jaws cover is amazing🤩 and E.T looks like he’s on vacation with that casual pose. No where near ready to phone home.

I can’t wait to see how much they’ve adapted this but I do think this be one of the few times where the movie will be better than the book.

Never read the book but the trailers for this do nothing for me at all.

I'd like to see Spielberg make another WW2 movie. He covered the Western front and the Holocaust, so now he can focus on the Pacific theater to complete his triumvirate.
