I am so excited for this movie, I saw Alien so many times growing up, I always loved Ridley's vision more than Cameron's and I can't wait to see this. I am so stoked to see what Sir Ridley has up his sleeve.

i have a feel this movie is a PG13. Ridley did not give a straight answer saying the movie is going to be R-Rated. he just said its "it’s kinda R".

look at the Chronicle that movie feels like a R but its PG-13

Well if they had used part 3 or 4 to explain the Space Jockey then Ridley wouldn't get this chance to really answer those questions.

jazz@ Might be possible that its PG13 in the big screen and R on the dvd but honestly i dont think the rating counts that much. If the mood is right it could still be [frick]ing scary.

@AlexDeLarge87

u might be right but thats not fair to the people who cant wait to see. remember the good old dates when film studios just release R-Rated movie and they make major money.

@ ckal - no, it's hanging more like a pack of bacon. It's taken a hearty pounding over the years!

@Jazz- It sounds like Scott made the movie he wanted to make, and no doubt the studio let him do his thing, but it will be up to the ratings board. It's possible they can come back with an 'R' rating and the studio will request Scott edit it into a PG-13 version, but Scott's history of succesful movies, regardless of ratings should keep what Ridley wants in the movie and off the editing floor.

Alien, Bladerunner, Legend, Prometheus!

I hope this movie is heavy on the sci-fi and twists like Resurrection, and I think Resurrection gave us a glimpse as to why they wanted the Space Jockey?)

@yossarian - A year from now , you'll be looking backward at it.

It's kinda like if tomorrow was today, it would be yesterday.

Or like something with 'all-natural artificial flavor'.

Or powered-water! Good to have in a drought.

@xXkryptoniteXx - If you look in the trailer that specific scene shows Space Jockey "opening" in the chest and arms, as if he's wearing a suit.

My guess is also that the machine he sits on is either a sinalizer (from where he sent the distress call) or a cannon to destroy something.

This movie will be really boss.

And IM53, good call on the gifs, epic scenes of modern cinema.

I wanted to write a third AVP. After the incident that caused the Predator ship to crash in the beginning of the second AVP, the Predators decided to take extra precautions with the Alien eggs. So rather than transport the Alien eggs themselves, they commissioned a new third alien race to transport them before a big hunt. That race would be the Space Jockeys. Then at the end you find out the ship that is in Alien part one was a ship that was supposed to deliver eggs for a Predator hunt, but the jockey got "infected" and it crashed on LV426.

Prometheus is going to be epic.

lol...May the Schwartz be with yououououo

PG13 or R...either way it will be brilliant. Perhaps even brilliant enough to pass $1billion.

I'm glad no one else considered expanding on that story, I'm much happier with Ridley handling that

I didn't notice this before but the shots of the Jockey walking around before he sits in the chair to put on that helmet are amazing. Looking guuuuud so far!!

This movie is going to flippin rule if it's rated R.
CoolantTech
CoolantTech - 3/29/2012, 1:13 AM
You can make a Pg-13 movie feel R rated, just minimize expletives, sex, & blood
Bandrews1
Bandrews1 - 3/29/2012, 6:37 AM
So is it PG-13 or R? Even though either way I'm still psyched for this movie.
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 3/29/2012, 12:21 PM
If it's pg13 it's still going to kick major ass. In horror type films especially though, it's nice to have people react in a human way. Which you think would be something pretty vulgar.

I know I would say "holy f*cking shit!"
