Lately there has been a lot of rumors floating around the web about Ridley Scott's upcoming movie 'Prometheus', and while some of them have already been debunked, and others are still out there in the realm of possibility.
Well now we have even more rumors to add to that list.

Brenden Connelly over at Bleeding Cool has talked to one of his sources who is supposedly close to the film and he has given us some more details about the upcoming flick.

One of the biggest questions fans have been asking is how the previous 'Alien' films will tie into the movie, and his answer is pretty simple, it will have the aliens in it, the only problem is that you may not recognize them at first.

Most of you will remember when the aliens "mated" with a dog and the outcome resulted in an alien with canine qualities, the same so with when they grow inside of humans, and this is why you wont recognize them, they're missing human or dog DNA.

He also learned that part of the films setting is a planet that has be created as the perfect environment to farm some sort of bioweapon.

He then asked his source whether or not the film would be called 'Prometheus' and his source replied with “Maybe not. Though they are calling it that for a reason.”

So there you have it folks, now we have plenty more rumors that we can discuss while we wait for them to be confirmed or denied. One thing is for sure, with all the publicity this movie is getting on the net, it's definitely going to be a big hit even if it isn't tied into the 'Alien' universe.

I cannot wait for this film. The casting thus far has been spot-on. I hope it maintains that same creepiness that the first few Alien movies did.

Also, hoping this takes place in the Alien universe.

It seems to me that everything we've heard makes sense. This sounds like a true Alien Prequel. Why would we have humans in it if they only discovered the alien species in the first film. I really like where this is headed.

Hmm, that is true, we've never seen the "true form" of the alien without any human interference. Can't wait to see what Ridley and co. have in store for the franchise!

Guys, why would Ripley be in this? her first encounter with the Aliens was in the first Alien film. It would make no sense for her to be in this.

I think he meant Ridley, not Ripley

It would awesome if they could get Danzig to do the soundtrack to this.

@number21 One of my good friends plays bass for Danzig. lol He doesn't have that much hair anymore. Getting a little thin! He would've looked perfect for Wolverine back then, but I doubt he could've pulled it off acting-wise. I'm looking forward to this movie. It's good that they're finally getting away from the whole "AVP" thing. But if Noomi is in this then she better shave her pits...and keep her shirt on! No fried eggs thank you!

Couldn't give a sh*t what this grumpy ol sh*t does anymore. I'd be shocked if Crowe isn't in it.

I just love how the 'new' group of auteurs who came about like Spielberg and Lucas, and I'm going to group James Cameron and Ridley scott in there to. Are now making commercial sh*t all the art and love seems to have been sucked from their craft.

David fincher should walk up Scott and Cameron an just say "hey I may have directed what critics claim is the worst Alien film, but at least I'm not a f**king sell out!"

Why does anyone care if this ties into the first Alien movie, anyway? It was just Sigourney Weaver, a cat, and a bunch of victims. The last thing I would want to see is a movie about a space barge hauling cargo through the void.

The Aliens have always been the star of these movies. Can't wait to learn more about them. Humans are just there to get killed in entertaining ways. And anything that keeps Ridley Scott from making another snoozefest with Russel Crowe is good, too.

@ Intruder

Speaking of 2012 geek films, don't forget the Guillermo del Toro/James Cameron adaptation of HP Lovecraft's 'At the Mountains of Madness'. It's going to be big.

@ CanadaMan

I don't think the xenomorphs actually have a pure form – the ones we see in 'Prometheus' will probably have Space Jockey DNA, or the DNA of some other alien creatures we haven't seen yet. The only way a pure-blooded xenomorph could be created is if a facehugger lands on another pure-blooded xenomorph... which doesn't exist. I can't see it happening.
Rodimus9
Rodimus9 - 2/25/2011, 6:39 AM
It's kinda like the whole which came first, chicken or egg? I think the xenomorphs were genetically engineered and evolved.

Can't wait for this movie!

Btw, True Lies was the shit!!
