With Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario, and Arrival, Denis Villeneuve has been on quite the run and this summer, we'll get to experience his latest directorial venture, Blade Runner 2049, which will see the director team with Ryan Gosling (La La Land) and Harrison Ford (Star Wars: The Force Awakens).
As part of their extensive Comic-Con preview issue, Entertainment Weekly has debuted four new stills from the upcoming movie, featuring fresh looks at Gosling, Ford, Robin Wright (Wonder Woman), and others. Gosling also provides a little bit of background information about the first photo and details what it was like working with Villeneuve. "Here’s a perfect example of working on this film. In the script, my character walks up to a guy sitting at a desk, and we have a very small exchange. It’s probably a quarter of a page of the screenplay. I show up at set that day and that is what they built.” He laughs. “I said to [director Denis Villeneuve], ‘You built all this for just one scene? It takes up an entire stage!’ And he said, ‘Yes, well, the scene is in the movie, right?’ It didn’t matter if it was a quarter of a page or an important set piece — everything was treated with the same level of detail and importance.”

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
