Artist's Impression Of How 'Princess Leia' Will Look In STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS
Making Star Wars has gotten a look at a publicity still from J.J. Abrams' Star Wars flick, featuring Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia. While we've had descriptions of the former 2 characters before, this is our first idea of the costume/hairstyle that Carrie Fisher's Leia will sport in the movie.
We still haven't seen any official shots of returning cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill or Carrie Fisher from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but we have had some pretty detailed descriptions of how Han Solo and Luke Skywalker will look -- and now we can add Princess Leia to the list. Making Star Wars managed to get a glimpse of a photo featuring Leia sitting on Chewbacca's lap, while Solo stands in the background. Apparently it's reminiscent of those early A New Hope publicity stills which you can see at the link below. Han is described as having a similar coat to the one he wore in the leaked leaked concept art, and Chewie is said to have a bit more grey in his fur than he had in that "Thank You" set video from last year. The site have put together a colour sketch of the costume Leia is wearing, and you can check that out along with their description below.
"Princess Leia is wearing a solid jumpsuit. It is greyish blue. She wears a black vest which hangs below her waist. The vest is more in the style of the Tantive IV trooper than Han Solo’s classic vest. The jumpsuit has an open button-down collar and the cuffs are rolled up about two inches at her wrists. She has a thick black belt with a silver belt-buckle (very 1980). Her hair is braided and pulled over to the side so it hangs over her left shoulder in a ponytail. Her hair is grey with dark blonde tones to it. She has dark black boots on with a darker black band around the top of them."
The Tantive VI was the ship boarded by Darth Vader and his men at the beginning of A New Hope, and the Rebel Troopers aboard did indeed look very similar to the artist's depiction above. Hopefully we'll get a look at this photo for ourselves soon, but for now what do you think of Leia's new duds?
