Finding Dory swam past
Captain America: Civil War to be the new domestic champion back in June, but now another Disney-distributed film has taken the crown from the Pixar sequel. Despite opening to $155 million back in December, the Star Wars flick has now surpassed
Finding Dory ($486.3 million) and now stands at
$488.3 million after taking in an additional $3.244 million yesterday.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is expected to finish in the top 5 movies this weekend at the box office while it faces competition from films such as
Sing and Golden Globe-winner
La La Land. The Star Wars flick is also expected to reach the historic domestic milestone of $500 million this upcoming holiday Monday. It is expected to finish overall with around $550 million. Pretty good for a spin-off/prequel.
