Yesterday during his Star Wars Celebration Anaheim panel, Godzilla director Gareth Edwards revealed the first official details for his standalone Star Wars movie, and in the following video interview with Flicks And The City, he elaborates further. Going on what Edwards says here we can probably expect a slightly more adult journey to the galaxy far, far away when Rogue One hits theaters next year.


A band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans. Star Wars: Rogue One, written by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz, will be directed by Gareth Edwards. It’s scheduled for release on December 16, 2016.
