SECRET INVASION Star Emilia Clarke Plays Coy When Asked About Possible Return As SOLO's Qi'ra

Emilia Clarke played the enigmatic Qi'ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but when the Secret Invasion star was recently asked about a possible return, her response left fans convinced a return is in the works.

Solo: A Star Wars Story was really put through the wringer thanks to a change in directors and significant reshoots, and we may never know what the original plan for the movie was.

Ron Howard delivered an enjoyable enough origin story for the title character, though we can't help but think original filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller came up with something a little more exciting and offbeat. Still, Maul's cameo as the true leader of Crimson Dawn was a jaw-dropping moment, while Qi'ra's betrayal of Han left us with a lot of questions.

One popular theory is that Emilia Clarke's Qi'ra might have been leaking intel to Enfys Nest in the hope of either freeing herself from the criminal organisation or seizing Dryden Vos' power for herself. Writer Jon Kasdan has since said that's not quite what they had planned for a sequel but confirmed we'd have got the answers we've been longing for.

As things stand, there are no concrete plans to #MakeSolo2Happen, but might Qi'ra return elsewhere? The viral clip below (first shared on SFFGazette.com) certainly has fans thinking she might...

She's acting a little too cagey there, don't you think?

If Clarke is gearing up to return, then it's hard to say when and where it could actually happen. Andor season 2 is possible, albeit unlikely, while that Lando spin-off starring Donald Glover appears to be no closer to happening than the last time we heard about it. Lucasfilm could have some surprises in store, though, particularly as we don't know what's coming on Disney+ beyond 2024.

Qi'ra's story has continued courtesy of Marvel Comics, but such a small percentage of fans read those stories, we're not even entirely sure if they're officially canon (we can't imagine future filmmakers would be 100% beholden to them, anyway).

We'll have to wait and see, but as always, you'll want to stay tuned for updates.

I’m absolutely for them doing direct-to-Disney+ movies instead of too many shows.

„The Crimson Dawn: A Star Wars Story“ to wrap up Solo‘s open plot. Make it a prison escape movie that features Qui-Ra breaking out Han and Chewie from Mauls fortress and dying to redeem herself, let the film end with Han taking a job for Jabba and all is tied up.

Cheaply produce on the volume and sell Han/Chewie/Maul/Qui-Ra merch galore

@Blergh - keep Han away from Maul. Han doesn’t believe in the force or Jedi. We don’t need him seeing any of that shit.

@philinterrupted - Maul is not a huge "visible" Force user, so having a small confrontation with him would actually cement Han's beliefs that Force, Jedi and Sith are all one big hokey religion

@Blergh - Yeah, i would actually love a regular annual/semestral special presentation with all those characters. "The adventures of Han Solo", twice a year you put on a one-hour movie of simple adventure, nothing big-scope, just adventure stories told in the Star Wars universe, nothing "important" canon-wise, focused on actor alchemy and good old light entertainment, only well produced.

Terminator, Star Wars, and now marvel…poor girl hops on a franchise and it always ends up being one of the worst received in the series. Probably doesn’t help that her acting needs a little tune up…

With Kathleen Kennedy calling the shots...shit happens at Lucasfilm.

Why would they continue any stories from the lowest earning Star Wars movie ever? I actually liked the underworld plots from that movie, but it isn’t seen in a positive light from fans. It seems like a poor business move to continue anything that was started there.

I'm enjoying Secret Invasion. It is the best of the last 3 series released by Marvel. I just thought the Queen of Dragons deserved a better character. I get the impression that the vast majority of secondary characters in this series will die over the course of the episodes
