Solo: A Star Wars Story, taking over the iconic role made famous by Harrison Ford, his co-star Donald Glover had some pretty big shoes to fill himself. The
Atlanta creator has already received a huge amount of praise for his portrayal of Lando Calrissian in the upcoming film, including from original actor Billy Dee Williams.
Speaking to ComicBook.com Glover was asked whether he had heard anything regarding Williams' reaction to the film. "He texted me," Glover revealed. "He said 'You did a good job.' That was all I wanted, all I needed."
Much like Ehrenreich and Ford, Glover had previously met with Williams to gain some insight into playing the beloved Star Wars character, and it must have paid off as Billy Dee Williams gave the actor his full endorsement. "It definitely made me feel like I didn't let him down," Glover said. "He was such an iconic figure in the first one, in The Empire Strikes Back, that I definitely didn't want to let him down."
