During tonight's Game 3 matchup between the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks, Warner Bros. Pictures released the official final trailer for Christopher Nolan's upcoming sci-fi/action epic Tenet, which is set to "The Plan," an original track from Travis Scott recorded exclusively for the film's soundtrack.

With just over a week to go before the film begins hitting theaters internationally, the first batch of reviews went live this morning and while the film doesn't seem to quite measure up with some of Nolan's finest, the majority of reactions do seem to be trending positive with the film currently boasting a 78% approval rating on review aggregator RottenTomatoes.

The cast is headlined by John David Washington (BlacKkKlansmanBallers), who is joined by Robert Pattinson (The BatmanHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Dimple Kapadia (Dil Chahta Hai; Dil Aashna Hai), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of UltronKick-Ass), Clémence Poésy (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; In Bruges), Himesh Patel (YesterdayAvenue 5), Michael Caine (The Dark Knight; The Prestige), and Kenneth Branagh (Harry Potter and the Chamber of SecretsMurder on the Orient Express).

John David Washington is the new Protagonist in Christopher Nolan’s original sci-fi action spectacle “Tenet.”

Armed with only one word—Tenet—and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.

Not time travel. Inversion.

The international cast of “Tenet” also includes Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, with Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh.

Nolan wrote and directed the film, utilizing a mixture of IMAX® and 70mm film to bring the story to the screen. “Tenet” is produced by Emma Thomas and Nolan. Thomas Hayslip served as executive producer.

Nolan’s behind-the-scenes creative team included director of photography Hoyte van Hoytema, production designer Nathan Crowley, editor Jennifer Lame, costume designer Jeffrey Kurland, visual effects supervisor Andrew Jackson, and special effects supervisor Scott Fisher. The score is composed by Ludwig Göransson.

“Tenet” was filmed on location across seven countries.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Syncopy Production, a Film by Christopher Nolan, “Tenet.” Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing “Tenet” worldwide and has slated the film for a September 3, 2020 release.

Tenet hits theaters September 3

Way too long of a trailer. But regardless, still gonna watch it. This will also basically be Pattinson's audition for Batman for me, lol.

The song doesn't fit for me, but the movie looks incredible. That new footage is wild!

Anyone else notice how they didn't make a big deal of Nolan's involvement like every other trailer?

I enjoyed it, especially the final parts hinting that "future timeline" if that is what the doctor meant.

Maybe if there is a drive in nearby I could see it. If not, early showings to avoid crowds.

Or I'll just suck it up and wait. :P Until then I'll have to avoid spoilers like I have never before.

I don't know wtf that was. Quite possibly the weirdest trailer I have ever seen but it caught my interest more than the previous two trailers combined.

Me, wearing a face mask watching a movie about people wearing face masks. That's two levels deep, Inception-style

Corona Karens on twitter asking people to boycott the movie is just pathetic. Stay home, let people who want to experience the movie the way it was intended. On the biggest screen possible

I saw this tonight and it’s clear that Christopher Nolan’s imagination works on a different level than the rest of us. If you thought Inception was a mind f**k then this movie will break your brain. The last hour of this movie is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. In a world full of remakes, reboots and superhero movies it’s nice to see film makers like Chris Nolan giving us original and unique movies to watch.

I love Chris Nolan for his highly conceptual flicks and ambition, and the fact that he’s one of the few filmmakers making truly original movies. That said, I just got back from this and I really didn’t like it. His films often take themselves too seriously and that’s okay because of the charisma of the actors and the fact that the ideas are so engaging you don’t mind. That wasn’t the case here, it’s a cold film with no charisma, humour or decent characters, and this time you’re not allowed to connect with the plot and ideas so you do notice. The action is impressive but I just didn’t care because I hadn’t connected with the plot or characters. Film might as well have been in reverse.

BUT I didn’t mind because I was still watching a film with an original idea.

There’s not much more to it than the trailers though so manage your expectations.

I should mention though that I’ve loved all of Nolan’s other films, even Interstellar which actually became a favourite after a rewatch. Maybe I’ll like it more after another watch. But I have no desire to see it again at this point

@NateBest

Posted this exact comment on the Batman Court of Owls thread 3 times and it was deleted every time. This has happened to a few of my comments this week.

no detective vision
no combo meter
no counter warnings
tons of numbers shooting out of the screen
enemy healthbars

It's clear they're going in a different direction

@Nightwing1015 - "Deleted" as in you saw it post and then it was removed, or "deleted" as in it never showed up? Once comments get past 1 page, there can be a slight delay as the comment caching catches up...

@NateBest - Deleted as in I saw the post go up 3 times and then vanish. I'm aware of the delay but these were deleted. I have screenshots of them if required. But every time they were deleted. I normally wouldn't mind but this is happening a little more frequently now for some reason.

@Nightwing1015 - That's really odd... I don't see anything wrong with the comment, unless it's something that's being posted over and over again repeatedly (which could be considered trolling)...

@NateBest - Yeah I said something similar in one other comment on the article. So maybe they thought I was repeating myself or something? I don't know, but I'll let you know if it happens again.
