Man, I really enjoyed TG. There were a couple cheesy parts, but they were less than 15 seconds, so weren’t that bad. I think the male leads in Salvation were better than the male leads in Genisys, but the story in Genisys was actually better and made sense, so I’d say it was equal or better. Probably better, just for the sake that it has WAY more Arnold.

Also, it was so [frick]ing cool to see the direct homage shot for shot scenes reenacted of the first Terminator and then mixed in the new stuff. So [frick]ing cool. I would've really loved if the movie would’ve had Emilia Clark doing a Linda Hamilton like narration.

Arnold rocked loved how they handled the time line. Critics always have an agenda handling movies like this.

This movie was fantastic. I have no idea how its at 27% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is a damn good movie. It gave me chills. Never had that with T3 or Salvation.

Don't believe the critics

I would watch this film again before I watch jurrasic world.
I was a little bummed that they gave away the massive cleaver twist
But it still worked for me... The thing that bummed me out the most
However, and I still find baffling that I haven't seen it being brought up ANYWHERE
was its PG-13 rating. I was floored. But still good all the way through. Sure it had cheesy moments
But they were out weighted by the awesomeness that was the rest of this film
I give it: ********* nine out of ten asterisks. 👍🏻

Out of all the movies I see get bashed on this website, I'm actually surprised people liked this movie. I thought it fell into the same traps that T3 fell into.

One of the worst movies I seen this year.

Wow this is the second time I don't agree with RT after Entourage Terminator Genisys is way better than Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation can't wait for the sequel.

Would be awesome if Paramount somehow makes James Cameron direct the next Terminator movie.

This movie was WAAAY better than it gets getting credit for. The best part of the movie was the entire 1984 act. 1984 T1 Arnold is still the most terrifying Terminator, something about him is just menacing and even the robot part seem scarier than his counterparts, and I'd say both T-1000's, original and new, are tied for #2.

One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others

[frick] the haters, this is a true terminator and pays homage to the style of the first two. T2 can never be topped, but this is second. Only complaint is they should have found a Michael Behn type for kyle. Arnold with that smile though!

Arnold is the best part of this film. The script was terrible (lazy) and three of the four lead actors were mis-cast (Sarah, Reese and Conner). You just get the sense that the actors were used to advance their careers not advance the story. Should have been unknowns.

Spoiler:

As an example of lazy writing: when they shoot the missile at the helicopter it should go down. There's too much damage. But it doesn't so Arnold takes a dive into the copter and it crashes. Solution? Don't do the missile. It's cleaner if it's just the Arnold dive.

Plus, Emilia Clarke is just too heavy for this role. Seriously, you can tell they're trying to hide it by the shots, and you can tell by the way she walks she in some sort of girdle.

I both love and hate the film.

As others mentioned, the 1984 act was great. However, I hated the villain turn for the John Conner character. I may have liked it more if it wasn't spoiled in advance of the film's release.

I would have preferred a better musical score...it wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable like T1 and T2's score. Too bad they couldn't get Brad Fiedel to come out of obscurity.

Why weren't there more cameos? Couldn't they get Bill Paxton to reprise his role as one of the punks? I'm sure Lance Henriksen would have been available...I think the J.K Simmons cop story arc would have worked better if it was Det. Hal Vukovich instead.
