THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES Posters Unveil First Look At Several Supporting Characters

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is set to hit theaters this November, and Lionsgate (via SFFGazette.com) has now released a series of posters spotlighting the various heroes and villains of the pre-Katniss Everdeen prequel film.

Via Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes, we have two sets of banners, some of which give us a first glimpse of several supporting players, such as Euphoria star Hunter Schafer as Tigris Snow.

There's also Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow, Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird, Josh Andrés Rivera as Sejanus Plinth (JFC), Peter Dinklage as Casca Highbottom, Viola Davis as Dr. Volumnia Gaul, and Jason Schwartzman as Lucky Flickerman.

In a recent interview with Empire, director Francis Lawrence described new protagonist Lucy as being the "opposite" of Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss.

“Katniss was an introvert and a survivor,” he said. “She was quite quiet and stoic, you could almost say [she was] asexual. Lucy Gray is the opposite. She wears her sexuality on her sleeve, [and] she really is a performer.”

Check out the posters at the links below.

Experience the story of The Hunger Games — 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, and decades before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrannical President of Panem.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.

@mastakilla39 - you think? I honestly doubt it. I think Hunger Games/YA novel adaptations are not really hot topic anymore

@CaptainCheese - yeah, that already started to happen before the pandemic. Whatever happened to the Divergent series for example? Those last movies really went under the radar it feels like

It's got Dinklage and Zegler in it, well promoting this movie could be fun to watch. I bet the Studios have told them to keep their mouths shut.

Liked the original Hunger Games books and the first two movies were good.

Haven’t read this book but my wife said it was an interesting prequel.

The studio had better hope the strike continues so Ziegler can’t spout some nonsense in an interview.

@PC04 - It goes very well with a clip I saw recently from Leslie Nielson in The naked Gun movie I think it was. His quote was "Like a midget at a urinal I'm going to have to stay on my toes"

Josh Andrés Rivera as Sejanus Plinth (JFC)? What is that supposed to mean? Doubt JFC means Jesus [frick]ing Christ. Otherwise this'll be a very interesting prequel

What is it with fantasy book titles using the template of ... [A/The] BLANK of NOUN and NOUN. Sometimes the last noun isn't used, but the title template is pervasive in fantasy.

I remember watching the first 2 Hunger Games movies and they were pretty bad, didn't finish it. It's a story with a interesting hook but just is not executed well.
