Released on August 3rd this year, Sony Pictures' Total Recall (which stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel) wasn't exactly a success. With Rotten Tomtatoes giving it a 29% rating, the Len Wiseman-directed remake of the 1990 science fiction thriller has only grossed $58M+ domestically and $172M+ at the worldwide box office (the movie was made on a $125M budget). So far, a sequel isn't looking likely. But now, we have the bonus features and release date for the film's Blu-Ray release. Set for a December 18th debut on home video, both theatrical and extended cuts for Total Recall will be released.

Total Recall had a lot of flaws. I doubt if we get a sequel. (Which is actually a good thing) I'll buy it on Blue-Ray even thouh it was a disappointment.

Nobody cares about any other cut of this film. It was and every other cut will be ass because Weisman is a shitty director.

Watched the original recently and I've got to say the original is a shit film. Its silly, has terrible action and visuals, and has a laughable plot.

The original always was a shit film, this so called "remake" is more faithful to the book in the most important areas and is far superior in every aspect. Fanboys just hold on to the memories of anything from their childhood as usual even the shitty films.

This is the ONLY good thing about Wiseman
He might not release his R rated cut in theaters
But sooner or later we see it

@Ceejay i agree i didnt see the original until after and it is awful. I don't get how it is seen as this sci-fi masterpiece

Cause the original was revolutionnary at its time. That new one is just a complete shit mash-up of every post-200 sci-fi flick. And to say it is more faithful to the book is complete bullshit too, were do you see Mars, were do you see aliens? Why is it always referencing dialogs or sequences from the original then?

@Ceejay

Have you even read the source material? I have, and I can tell you that this film is NOT faithful source material. And even in areas where it is technically "more faithful" than the first are areas where it falls completely flat and botches any chance of being a good film.

Neither of the two was faithful to the short story by Philip K. Dick "We will remember it for you wholesale", but at least the first (that isn't exactly one of my favourite films) had that kind of grotesque social satire non one does anymore, the second is just a washed out version of the first.

@Ceejay Are you kidding me? First off it wasnt a book, it was a short story, and this film was so far from the source material that it's laughable. Dont comment on what you dont know. I WISH they had made a more faithful version. In the end the original film was worlds closer to the source even though it was very different.
@LokiBane2012 Thanks for beating me to it, CeeJays post made me cringe... Im glad someone set him straight. People should read more PKD these days, in fact people shoudl just read more, period.
