Zoe Saldana spent the better part of four years training to play the Na'Vi warrior Neytiri in director
James Cameron's Avatar, and, while she would love to return to the character in a sequel, it's not something that she can jump into lightly.
"[James] already knows how I like to approach it. I need at least 6 to 7 months of training and stuff to get into Neytiri again and whatever’s going to happen is going to happen.
"It’s not something that I can just turn on and off. Everything is a learned skill. The same way it took me like 2 to 3 months to channel [my The Losers character] Aisha, you know Neytiri is going to take her time as well. I mean, there are people we are kind of incarnating. It takes a little bit of preparation."
Of course, like the rest of us, Saldana is not really worried about Cameron deciding on a whim to start shooting
Avatar 2.
"The good thing that we all know about Jim is - it’s not so good sometimes because we sometimes have to wait like 10 years for it – but by the time he does come around, he gives you something that sort of changes your life or at least touches it in such a way. So I do know that Avatar 2 is going to be just as great as the first one because Jim’s the sh*t."
The Losers opens April 23rd!
