Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has received its official CinemaScore, but how does it stack up against previous Marvel Studios movies? Shang-Chi, meanwhile, appears to be an official Avenger!

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings arrived in theaters on Thursday night, and while many critics got to share their opinions a few weeks ago, it's now the turn of moviegoers to weigh in. 

The latest Phase 4 movie already has an impressive 98% "Audience Score" on Rotten Tomatoes, and it's now been confirmed that it's been awarded an "A" CinemaScore. That means Shang-Chi's origin story now ranks alongside the likes of Iron Man, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Doctor Strange. 

That's not a bad club to be part of, and it's worth noting that this is a better score than Black Widow's A-. 

Shang-Chi's big screen debut is clearly resonating with fans and moviegoers, and the marketing campaign for the movie just took an interesting turn. As you can see in the promo below, the hero is being touted as the MCU's "New Avenger," phrasing that gives us a good idea of where his future lies. 

In our latest review of the Marvel Studios movie, we concluded by saying: "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is nothing short of action movie perfection; this is the MCU like you’ve never seen before, and it’s no exaggeration to say Simu Liu was born to play the MCU’s newest Avenger."

Wonder who is next. Strange might help, but he doesn't seem like the type to join a team of superheroes. Too much going on with Panther to tell.

@dracula - I commented this in another article, but I think there might be two Avemgers teams:

New Avengers: Captain America, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Hulk and Thor

West Coast Avengers: Hawkeye, War Machine, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Wasp and Shang-Chi.

@bkmeijer - There will for sure be two team of Avengers, but would think the second team will be the one with US Agent and the new Black Widow.

@bkmeijer - I'm thinking it is going to branch out more. Young avengers, whatever Valentina is building, and some sort of Marvel Knights with Blade coming into the fold.

@Manmarvel - Blades group is Midnight sons, young avengers have already been set up through Disney+ 99% of the kids are there now, Valentina is setting up either Thunderbolts (under Thunderbolt Ross) or Dark Avengers

@bkmeijer - I think they are hinting a dark avengers or thunderbolts. Shang chi hinted that Abomination may be part of that team too. We so far have us agent (evil cap), white widow (evil black widow), and now Abomination (evil hulk). Lets see who Hawkeye gives us next....

@dracula - It kind of seems like Wong is filling the sorcerer role for the Avengers. Which makes sense - Strange is predictably not a team-player but Wong isn't about to waltz off and leave the other heroes without a magic-based perspective. Plus he probably just likes hanging out with them.

That's not canon though. Not every Marvel hero is or should be an Avenger. Black Panther isn't, nor are Captain Marvel or the Guardians. The Avengers are a (currently defunct) organization under the United Nations that assemble the best of the best.
I'm not saying Shang-Chi doesn't have what it takes to be an Avenger, just that I would want to see that earned with more than just one movie. And generally there should be a story about the recreation of the Avengers at some point.

I like movie I didn’t expect half movie with subtitles I can tell some people where getting bored in theater checking time going on Facebook next time I see someone on there phone in theater I can see what’s on screen I will say nice profile picture on Facebook

@dragon316 - black panther had a lot of subtitles too (probably the same amount). this film is a lot more slow paced so i understand, but ppl checking their phone in theaters is jus rude.

After credit scene was great news for Hulk fans seeing Bruce Banner in human form. Means they have something big planned for the Hulk in She-Hulk. A new Hulk is coming.

She-Hulk we have already seen Mark in his Mo-Cap Hulk suit.
