Following the release of the first trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Marvel Studios has pulled back the curtain on some of the merchandise we can expect to see gracing store shelves in the coming months. For starters, there's an entire range of the collectable Funko Pop vinyl figures!
Shang-Chi, Katy, Xialang, Wenwu, Death Dealer, Jiang Li, and Razor Fist are among those highlighted, though The Great Protector - a mystical dragon we've seen a Funko Pop figure for - is conspicuous by its absence. That's likely because Marvel Studios is holding off on showcasing this movie's mystical side until a little later in the marketing campaign (the teaser was pretty grounded).
These are all very cool, though, and likely to be highly sought after as we near that September release.
"Marvel Studios’ 'Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings' stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization," reads a brief synopsis shared by Marvel Studios.
The movie also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by David Callahan, Destin Daniel Cretton, and Andrew Lanham the movie is set to be released theatrically on September 3rd, 2021.
