In a new report from Murphy's Multiverse, it's suggested that Chinese actress Fala Chen has landed a key role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. While it's not confirmed, activity on her social media account points to it being highly likely as she's started following Shang-Chi actor Simi Liu and director Destin Daniel Cretton.
Other photos shared by the actress also line up with the timeline for production on the Marvel Studios movie (before it was forced to shut down as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic).
Earlier this year, we learned that MI6 Agent Leiko Wu is set to be part of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, so it's entirely possible that's who Chen is set to play here. Why this character? Well, we've yet to hear who else could end up taking on that role in the MCU!
That is just speculation for now, of course, but the report the site shared yesterday about Solo: A Star Wars Story actress Erin Kellyman starring in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has since been confirmed, so this isn't one that should be dismissed. We'll have to wait and see, as more casting news is likely to be a long way off while we await work on Shang-Chi's origin story to resume.
In the comics, Wu is a frequent ally to this movie's titular hero, and is likely going to help him track down The Mandarin if that is indeed the direction this story is heading in.
As always, we'll keep you guys updated as we learn more!
