With Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings now right around the corner, Marvel Studios has dropped another poster for the movie. As you can see, the latest addition to the MCU looks set to be quite the powerhouse as he makes use of the Ten Rings (well, we count six of them here, anyway).
Whether he'll continue to use the rings moving forward remains to be seen, but there's actually something else that jumps out at us in the Tweet sent out by the movie's official account.
It looks like "exclusively" has now been dropped from "exclusively in theaters September 3," and that leaves us to wonder whether Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now destined for a Disney+ "Premier Access" release for $29.99. The Suicide Squad just opened lower than expected, so this could be a good way to counter the negative effects of COVID-19.
Check out the new poster below:
Simu Liu, meanwhile, has shared his reaction to the poster as he reflects on how his path to playing Shang-Chi began. The actor also posted a fun video of him in Times Square as the latest TV spot for the Marvel Studios movie is displayed on one of the massive screens in the background. Awesome, right?
"Marvel Studios’ 'Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings' stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization," reads a brief synopsis shared by Marvel Studios a couple of months ago.
The movie also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by David Callahan, Destin Daniel Cretton, and Andrew Lanham the movie is set to be released theatrically on September 3, 2021.
