SHAZAM! Discovers His Lightning Superpower In This First Extended Clip From The Movie

Shazam! is set to soar into theaters very soon, and Warner Bros. has now released the first clip from the movie online.

In the extended sneak peek, a newly transformed Shazam (Zachary Levi) has to convince his friend Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer) that he's actually Billy Batson, before the pair decide to find out what superpowers come with the bright red costume. Then, after attempts at flying and turning invisible, Captain Sparkle Fingers is born!

Check out the fun clip below and let us know what you think.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou). Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

Arriving April 5, Shazam! also stars stars Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, Djimon Hounsou as The Wizard, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Cooper Andrews as Victor Vásquez and Marta Milans as Rosa Vásquez.

This was 'fun' but I honestly expected it to be a lot funnier. Kind of felt a bit dry at times. Maybe the fun is during the daytime.

I guess it’s a good thing he wasn’t pointing directly at Freddy.

holy sh*t, a 3 minutes clip, kinda long for a preview clip. still better than Sony releasing the first 10 minutes of Amazing Spiderman 2, boy was that desperate.

anyway, funny clip. gives me a bit of an Ant-Man vibe, rookie man-child superhero tries to learn how to use his powers. the difference being this guy is literally a child turned man.

cinematography looks good during night, surprisingly kinda moody for a lighthearted superhero movie.

Nice pure character development. I'll always prefer quiet scenes over whizz-bang boom.
