After a disappointing box office run, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is now available on Digital platforms, arriving less than a month after debuting in theaters.

In this deleted scene, we see the crowd cheering Shazam (Zachary Levi) on as he prepares for his final battle with Kalypso (Lucy Liu) and her dragon. The Big Red Cheese then belts out a rendition of Bonnie Tyler's "I Need a Hero."

Director David F. Sandberg explained that the cheering was cut to shorten up the run-time a little, and he removed Batson's singing because of the perception that the character is "too goofy/unserious."

Check out the sequence for yourselves below, and let us know if you think he made the right call.

Bestowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with having adult Super Hero alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago, Billy—aka Shazam—and his family are thrust into a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of their world.

From New Line Cinema comes Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!,” is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods stars returning cast members Zachary Levi (Thor: Ragnarok) as Shazam; Asher Angel (Andi Mack) as Billy Batson; Jack Dylan Grazer (It Chapter Two) as Freddy Freeman; Adam Brody (Promising Young Woman) as Super Hero Freddy; Ross Butler (Raya and the Last Dragon) as Super Hero Eugene; Meagan Good (Day Shift) as Super Hero Darla; D.J. Cotrona (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) as Super Hero Pedro; Grace Caroline Currey (Annabelle: Creation) as Mary Bromfield / Super Hero Mary; Faithe Herman (This Is Us) as Darla Dudley; Ian Chen (A Dog’s Journey) as Eugene Choi; Jovan Armand (Second Chances) as Pedro Pena; Marta Milans (White Lines) as Rosa Vasquez; Cooper Andrews (The Walking Dead) as Victor Vasquez; with Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place Part II) as Wizard.

Joining the cast are Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), with Lucy Liu (Kung Fu Panda franchise) and Helen Mirren (F9: The Fast Saga).

The superhero sequel is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2023.

Since we are getting a Joker musical this could've been a nice tie into that universe. Then have a Joker & Shazam movie with Simon Cowell and his court of music jury buffoons as villains.

Just do the proper clownshow WB.

Finally got around to watching it last night, what a waste of my time. TikTok script with some lame ass villains, it felt like those early 2000's superhero movies. What a waste of money and resources

Lucy Liu and Mirren SLEPT THROUGH THIS. Can’t blame them.

@GhostDog - Thought Mirren was fine... Liu, not so much.

@MarkCassidy - Lucy Liu seemed bored with the role. Helen Mirren seemed to be having fun with it though.

@MarkCassidy -

I think the film is honestly not as bad as people are saying. Honestly had a good time watching it. I find Levi endearing and the family aspect wholesome as well.

@HulkisHoly - It's not that bad,But it's nowhere near first one. Villains were goofy. Music choices not well. I believe if it was for Mark Strong, first movie would have flopped too. Needed a better villains raise stakes higher

As it appears to be coming to the end of its Box Office run, if this film does not come up with another 10+ million dollars, it will mean that the Two Peter Safran produced Shazam films and the James Gunn directed The Suicide Sqaud COMBINED will have made less money than Man of Steel.

Shazam - $367,799,011
Shazam FOG - $121,403,418
The Suicide Squad - $168,717,425

TOTAL - $657,919,854

Man of Steel $668,045,518

This is a sad statistic that suggests that David Zaslav - who hired Gunn and and Safran - is not the shrewed executive everyone thought he was.

@Forthas - at least the suicide squad was good. Step in the right direction… baby steps

@Forthas - makes me think about BvS. It made a grip, but it should, it had Batman. As such it should also have had long legs, which it did not. Therefore my conclusion is BvS was the right movie to make, they just didn’t make it right. I like it but I’m not blind, I know an excellent BvS could have led to a successful JL (if not a good JL, each movie does have to stand on its own after all). Water under the bridge

Watched this last night and sad to say it I'm pretty disappointed with it. The first one was a much better film. This one had it's moments but overall felt very cheap. Some of the action sequences felt so clunky. The final act had some great imagery in the dragon fight, but the rest felt rather lack luster. Unfortunate for what is their most likely final outing. I went in hoping for more of the first, and got a misguided version of it instead.
