Over the past few days, we've been getting word on some (very) late-notice casting additions for the Shazam! movie, and now it looks like we can add two more to the list.

According to Screen Rant, Meagan Good (Minority Report, Saw V) and Michelle Borth (Tell me you Love me, The Forgotten) will play the older superhero incarnations of Darla Dudley and Mary Bromfield, respectively. Providing this is on the level, they'll join Ross Butler (Eugene Choi), D.J. Cotrona (Pedro Pena), and Adam Brody (Freddy Freeman).

These castings have yet to be officially confirmed, but several of the actors have been spotted in and around the set.

Shazam! is scheduled to hit theaters on April 5, 2019.

I don't know who either of these people are but I'm cautiously optimistic about both this and the rest of the DCEU. It's the problem child that I constantly see glimmers of things I love in and want to see succeed.

And while there's a lot of talk about them green-lighting and working on random projects willy-nilly I think that's only virtue of the fact we've not had a concrete plan / slate released for them -- which they may well do at ComicCon.

Looking at what we've likely got in the near future, if certain shooting reports and rumours are to be believed;

2018

AQUAMAN

2019

SHAZAM!
WONDER WOMAN 2

2020

THE FLASH

2020 / 2021

THE BATMAN

Obviously confirmation and quality depending, but that's a pretty solid run.

@FromACertainPOV - You missed Suicide Squad 2 to the 2019 lineup and you're being optimistic when it comes to The Batman movie lol.

@TheGoddamnPeel - I wasn't sure where that stood now they seem to be prioritising Birds of Prey with Harley Quinn.

And I'm being optimistic when it comes to all of it, that's the point haha

Though there was a report recently that it may well go into production sometime mid to late next year so if that's true then we could see a 2021 release.

Even if we don't though, my fingers are crossed.

Relax people, the adult versions will only be cameos, maybe for a climatic final battle. If the studio is committed to the New 52 origin, then the adult versions of the Shazam Family are necessary in order to establish the Big Red Cheese. At the end of the day, the other wielders of the power of Shazam will either sacrifice or lose their powers, so the one, true, Capt. Marvel will be the only one left...until a mid-credits scene hints at Black Adam.

Also, Megan Goode may not be a Meryl Streep or Viola Davis, but this ain't exactly Masterpiece Theater. She is (way) more attractive and just as perfunctorily talented as 90% of "hot" actresses folks on this site gush about. Kudos to those who are consistent and say the same thing when Megan Fox is mentioned.

Damn it, DC. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Wonder Woman are three of DC’s best live action films. I saw promise in the Cinematic Universe. Then Warner Bros. fires the architect for your Cinematic Universe without so much as considering a replacement before doing so (granted those are MASSIVE shoes to fill, but still) and they completely wreck your slate and your films with their overbearing studio interference, leading to one of the biggest box office failures for one of your biggest projects. Yet I'm still looking forward to your films.

James Wan, Patty Jenkins and David Sandberg are really talented filmmakers, and I am excited to see their takes on Aquaman, Wonder Woman in present day (they had better be setting it in the present day. If we get the eighties, it had better be in short flashbacks) and Captain Marvel/Shazam!. When the studio didn't ruin them, Zack Snyder and Patty Jenkins delivered some great DC Films and I am very confident in these directors to deliver a great product as well. That is, if the studio leaves them the Hell ALONE.
