SHAZAM! Set To Return To Toronto For Reshoots As Fans Remain Hopeful For That SUPERMAN Cameo
It's being reported that David F. Sandberg's Shazam! is scheduled to return to Toronto for three weeks of additional photography starting November 1st - but don't get your hopes up for a Superman cameo...
According to Production Weekly, Shazam! is preparing to return to Toronto for almost three weeks of reshoots, which will commence on November 1st.
Along with the usual speculation that this additional photography is being scheduled to "fix" something about the movie, the news has reignited hope that Henry Cavill may fly by for that long-rumored Superman cameo. While certainly possible, this is highly unlikely for several reasons.
Though yet to be officially confirmed, trade reports indicate that Cavill is done with the role. Plus, even if the British actor does surprise us all and return to play The Man of Steel, he will most likely be filming his scenes for Netflix's The Witcher adaptation by the time Shazam! reshoots are underway.
In related news, Grace Randolph is reporting that Wonder Woman 1984 was pushed back 7 months because Warner Bros. is retooling it as Flashpoint... or something. We're not buying it, but have a look at the vid and see what you make of it.
“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”
Shazam! is set to hit theaters on April 5, 2019.
