We recently got a first glimpse of Madame Web star Dakota Johnson on the set of the Sony Pictures movie (is she playing Julia Carpenter?), and these latest shots give us a look at Adam Scott, who we learned had joined the cast in an undisclosed role just last week.

What do these photos tell us about his character? Well, not a whole lot! The bearded Severance star was spotted preparing to shoot a scene in jeans and a blue plaid shirt, looking pretty much like he did on Parks and Recreation when Ben was between jobs.

We may get a better idea of who he's playing once we see who he's filming with, but as it stands, Sony has done a pretty good job of keeping the identities of the main characters under wraps. There is a rumor doing the rounds that Sydney Sweeney could be playing Black Cat, but aside from the Euphoria actress confirming that she is in the midst of fight training to prepare for her role, we don't have much to go on.

Check out the set new photos at the link below.

Madame Web has assembled a very impressive cast, and there's have been reports that it was actually developed as a team-up film with Johnson's clairvoyant lead sharing the spotlight with a number of other female heroes. That remains to be seen, but the trades certainly seem to think there's more to the project than meets the eye.

The movie also stars Emma Roberts, Isabela Merced and Celeste O'Connor. S.J. Clarkson (The Defenders) is directing from a screenplay by Morbius scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

Madame Web was recently given an official release date, and is set to hit theaters on July 7, 2023.
